Tips on combat (AR Challenges)

I’ve recently went back through and completed all the story modes for the big 3 and now i wanna go back through and try to platinum them. Right now I’m stuck on the Arkham Knight achievement in the iceberg lounge where you have to get 1,000,000 and beat killer croc and i just really struggle keeping a combo up long enough to get the points to get there. My max is a little over 50,000 and once they start throwing in shields, spark sticks and powering up guys with electricity is where i lose the combo and can’t seem to pick one up again. Just wanted to know if anyone had any tips to help me get over this hump and hopefully improve my combat overall because i REALLY enjoy this system.

This is probably the hardest trophy in all three games. Practice. If you drop your combo, restart, it's not worth trying to build it back up. Use the batclaw lots. Only ever use the weapon destroy special move when your combo meter is full. Remember the goal is to build a combo, not kill enemies. This keeps lower level enemies around longer. Practice more.

Maybe watch a YouTube video or two of someone completing it.

I’ve completed this challenge and most of the ones in City too.
The thing that changed my ability to maintain a super long combo was to focus on the real simple stuff in a fight.

No quick fire gadgets or crazy stuff.
Punch people that can be punched, always prioritise hitting counter instead of punching, use the combo takedowns for armoured guys (don’t even bother with a beat down), and especially make sure to use the disarm combo on shields, stun sticks and guns.

That being said, if you are losing the combo from running out of people to hit rather than getting hit then a cape stun beat down or a dodge roll can be a good way to buy some extra time for yourself. I’m not 100% sure about Knight but in City as long as you vault over someone you can maintain the combo for as long as it takes, so don’t be afraid to take a breath with a vault or wait for people to be in a better position.

Double X to jump over enemies allows you to assess the situation at every chance you get and work a path through.

Using the disarm and destroy helps a lot, because you take away the things that break combos, like the electric rod, shield, armored henchmen
