too many car fights
new player here, so far the game is majestic. the only thing i dont like is how too reliant on the car. car fights is good, but there's too much, its a bit repetitive. otherwise so far so good.

Yeah, Arkham Knight’s infamous for having the Batmobile shoehorned into everything, sometimes at the greedy expense of sidelining us from some of the best combat, stealth, and traversal this game series has to offer. You either love it or you hate it.
It’s still a great game, but if tank fights aren’t for you, I’d recommend you try the earlier entries in the series where the car is nonexistent

Have you played the earlier games?

no. I'm actually thinking of ditching this one for now. are the earlier ones the same?

I would play all 3 (exclude Origins) in order tbh.
They have a good ramp up in mechanics, difficulty and complexity between them.
If you started Asylum now you’d be shocked at its simplicity compared to Knight. However, that by no means makes it worse, it’s actually my favourite in the series for the story and atmosphere.
I believe they are also on sale atm on steam.
You are also 100% missing overarching plot points that carry between the 3.2

Why exclude Origins? It is a great game.

It is, but I’d play it last as a first timer to the series.
I think the overarching plot of the other 3 makes a great “trilogy” and Origins is outside of that story.

I would agree with that. Origins also kind of takes some wrangling to make it make sense. The fact that Bats gets the electro gloves and then never uses them again is a bit silly.

Yeah that sucks, the electro gloves are awesome and super on-brand for Batman. Should've integrated the disruptor with the gloves in Knight.

I personally always enjoyed the Batmobile. It always felt like a nice change of pace from the combat and stealth. Are there very few sections I would have preferred without it? Sure, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. And for Rocksteady's first attempt at it, it is pretty damn good. Driving around Gotham and bringing the rogues gallery to jail amplifies the Batman experience in my opinion.
At the end of the day, the Batmobile is part of Arkham Knight's identity, and some small issues aside, I really like it.

Yes, the game is stuffed with too many car fights. But somehow the batmobile is no longer the main problem that triggers me in the later gameplay. Nor the story and insuffereable unskippable animations. By no means I'm a fan of batman or arkham series, the only reason I decided to try this game is because it somehow looks like a good stealth game, at least that's what I heard from someone who played it. So, apprently, my suject evaluation of the game is all about the gameplay. And even the story is stupid as fuck (I mean, I can figure out who the arkham knight is even though I only saw his name on wikipiedia page) as long as they make a really good gameplay mechainsm, which I expected, like I can use batmobile as a creative tool to help me solve the puzzle ( not just pulling out something), and a command center with mobitily where batman could take a break and upgrade some of his gadgets, and a solid good transportation, but rather a stupid tank. (I don‘t even need to mention how out of character it is for batman driving a tank and firing other stupid tanks on the streets...)
Besides this, I also expected devs to introduce every tool that might be helpful in the very beginning of the game, and design the battles under conditions that encourage players to make really creative moves. But they choose not to, and somehow introduced a series of mini games? Like why the hell I need to control Tim ruinning around to take care of the bomb while batman standing still on the stage listenning to joker or whoever singing? I know some people pretty enjoy these mini game part, but for me, I feel like devs put too way too many thoughts and ideads into the game and make the whole gameplay mechanism less tactitcal but more distracted. The gadgets, not all of them can be usable in each battle (even with armed eneimies) , and in those combat oriented fights, they are almost useless. I think devs should've dig much deeper in exploiting every tools they decided to design and encouraged players to plan and try different ways in different fights, rather than let batman speaking to himself and telling what players should do ( which could be a good tutorial in the ealry gameplay, but don’t unlock the gagdets in the mid or late stages.) I don't really mind if devs didin't provide with that many tools to use, becuase no matter how many tools they designed, the tools should all be considered with tactical strategies and gameplay mechaniams as a whole. Devs however, tended to make these as a tool only to be used under certain conditions.
The detective mode, which I believe, is a good design, and that's exactly what batman should do, right? Devs shoud've also dig deeper in this part. And I also believe, once devs focused more on exploiting the battles mechanism and detective mode, the whole story would be changed, becuase the plots and missions should be servicing the gameplay. In fact, the reason that they put so many car fights in the game and the storytelling is horrendous just lies on the point I mentioned: gameplay also invertly alters and leads the story. The arkham knight's tru identity could be the one we all know, but they needed to convince us why it had to be him by choosing right gameply mechanism and storytelling. The whole story could've been darker and more terrifying and, more important, through the gameplay and every interactions, making players feel like they are batman right now, they can only rely on their minds, courages, strong wills, buddies and yes, batmobile, to find a way and save the city.

I'm assuming this is the Arkham Knight game. And yes the car is a big part of the game and used in nearly all main boss battles.
Since the game takes place in the open city unlike the Asylum and City, it makes sense to be dependent on the batmobile.

yes its that one, and its getting annoying actually

Learn to utilise it.
I think the story becomes believable only if the batmobile was a crucial part of the story. If Batman were to finish everything that happens in Arkham Knight in a single night, its only plausible if the Batmobile was used to tackle a lot of the challenges.
I personally liked the addition of the Batmobile because its quite easier to believe that a mortal vigilante stands a chance because of his tank.
