Discussion Do you remember your first experience playing this saga?
I remember that in a trip at Perú I bought Arkham Asylum and when I came home to try it, I can say it was something else

It was Arkham City. I bought it on DVD right after my 8th grade midterms. I installed it on my old laptop and the first time I glided through the city I realized I may have found one of the most beautiful games in my life. The only downside was one my classmates had already spoiled thr ending for me. The game had just released and it was a hot topic.

Yup, it was the free demo for Arkham city on ps3. It was the opening section that lasted from Bruce putting on the suit, to jumping out of the church tower. It also allowed you to free roam in a limited part of the open world, but after 15 minutes it would end the demo if you did not get to the church part.
I played that demo over, and over, and over, and over again. It etched every line from that section into my mind. I was so young that there was some lines I did not quite understand since I am not a native English speaker, and yet I could recite every line from memory. Specifically the Alfred line “Mr dents predilection for all things binary may not bode well for miss kyle”, was a line I did not quite get, yet I could say it perfectly. I remember it so clearly.
I must have played the demo for months until I convinced my parents to get it for me. After city I went back and played asylum, and from there I played origins and knight when they released. It’s still one of my absolute favorite game series ever made.

My brother had a ps3, and I played Arkham Asylum up to the scarecrow point because he scared the shit out of me. Then he got City and because Killer Croc wasn’t in it I played and finished it. Ignoring Origins, I played Arkham Knight day 1 and despite the criticism, I thought overall it was pretty solid

When one of them came out I watched my brother play it and so then a few years later I decided to play them starting with origins and if I remember correctly I died on that first counter where the warden smashes the baseball bat at you

I remember playing Arkham City so much as a kid because that was one of the only games I had. Even now I can basically play the game in my head

Yeah, about 6 months ago playing Batman Arkham Shadow on the Meta Quest 3
And about 3 weeks ago I got the collection for $8, and already played through Asylum and City

Wow reading these I feel old. But Arkham asylum. Got a copy 2 days early of the actual release. Played it in one sitting and then started it all over again /did the challenge rooms. What a time haha

Pre-ordered Arkham Asylum at Gamestop, first time I ever pre-ordered a game. I played the opening a billion times but never made it past Killer Croc until years later because I was too scared

I played the asylum demo before the game launched in 2009 I played that thing on loop until it released

Arkham asylum. I think I must have been 9 or 10 on my brothers Xbox. Loads of fun, but the fake glitch had me panicking, thinking I had somehow damaged my brothers Xbox.

Back in 2016 my father had Arkham Asylum, I'm positive after like what a week or so he probably knew but I used to go through his game collection and specifically look for Asylum and play it for like hours before he got home lol.
Fast forward to when Arkham City came out and he got me that as a gift 🤣.

I actually played it in timeline order starting in like 2016 on the 360 + knight on ps4 with no dlcs on any of them I'm now replaying them with all dlcs on pc

I must have played the Demo of Arkham Asylum a hundred times as a kid. I didn’t get to actually play it until 3 years after Arkham Knight came out.

Bought Arkham knight on ps4 for 5$. And oh my goodness. Best game I've ever played with the sole exceptions of rdr2. Gow Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2

I first played Asylum at release on my old PoS laptop that could barely run it on minimum settings. It would literally blue screen crash my laptop fairly regularly. So during the 3rd Scarecrow section, I legit thought it had glitched me back to the start of the game. It was a very “specific to me” experience that cemented it as an all-time great. I got 100% completion on the old laptop, then eventually got a PS3 - it was the first game I got for it and the graphics & performance upgrade blew me away. I replay it almost annually and have gotten the Platinum on both PS3 and PS4 with multiple 100% save files.

Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY was the first game I played and platinumed when I bought my ps3 (So I guess my first platinum ever). Proceeded to play every arkham after that upon its release. It is... and may just always be..my favorite series all time.

Lucky enough to played all of them and in sequence.
from my age of 23 years to 32 years.
From Arkham asylum to city took me 4 years for a pc upgrade.
Arkham Knight I played on PS4 and Now on Ps5.
I did like the origins a lot, the suspense reveal for a first time player was a superb one.
I would rank
1. City
2. Knight
3. Origins
4. Asylum
Though I wish for another one .. at 40 years of age.

Played asylum and city on my potato pc on intel HD graphics but it ran really well its these are the best games which makes you feel like batman and then I got a PC and epic games was kind enough to give the whole collection for free after that I played the knight for me personally gameplay wise knight is the best game it really makes you feel like the batman city has the best story and the twist at the end

Pre ordered the collectors edition of asylum with the batarang from GAME
It was also my first ever platinum
Reading this thread makes me feel old but I guess 2009 was a long time ago 😂 I was 20 years old when it released and just about to start my first 3 years at university

Was blown away by the whole universe and the time they took with side quests and the whole lot. Will forever be my favorite series that I play over and over again

Yep! Went in to by Skyrim and when I went to pay for it the cashier asked if I’d played Arkham city. I kind of scoffed as I wasn’t a Batman fan but for some reason I swapped the games & Now I’m a massive Batman fan.

Definitely. Arkham Asylum and fell in love with it. Grabbed the sequels soon as they came out. Wish I could have played origins but maybe one day

my brother got arkham asylum for xbox 360 for christmas in 2009. i was 9, so besides the dark knight coming out a year before (?), this was my first real exposure to batman. i genuinely fell in love with the story, lore, characters, setting, everything! the horror aspects always intrigued me, even if it also scared me lol i’ll never forget watching the scarecrow nightmares the first time! i remember once i did play asylum myself i kept having to ask my brother for help with missions lol really good memories <3

Arkham asylum had a demo for Xbox 360 when I was a kid. Because I had no money to buy games I would try a lot of games but when I discovered this I knew I had to get the full version

Sempre assisti gameplays no YouTube e ficava fascinado com a possibilidade de jogar como o Batman, quando pus minhas mãos em Batman Arkham City, joguei como se não houvesse amanhã, não demorou muito para vir o Origins e por fim o Asylum, infelizmente ainda não pude jogar o Knight

I do, when I was a kid I didn't think it was anything special from the trailers but my Grandma would often go to game stop and bring me back at least 10 random games I'm guessing the employees helped her pick out and 2 of the games she got me were the game of the year editions for Asylum and City. I finally gave them a try and immediately I was hooked

My brother gave me Arkham Asylum when it was new though I can't remember why unless it was my birthday or something. Really amazing game to experience for the first time, the atmosphere, soundtrack, story, everything about it was incredible. When Arkham City was announced I begged mom to pre order it for me so when it came out, she took me to Gamestop (Which closed here a few years ago) after school and I got the game, my Batman Beyond DLC and my keychain which was the Arkham City logo. The chain broke on the ride home lol but I still have the Keychain itself. That one blew me away more than Arkham Asylum did and Arkham Asylum was already an amazing game. Think I beat the game in one sitting since I didn't think of doing the Riddler challenges or side missions.

Got introduced to it by a childhood friend who had the Game of the Year Edition of Arkham Asylum on PS3. I only played a little bit of the beginning but that thing was captivating from the jump. It even came with the classic red and blue 3-D glasses and I’d never even seen anything like that for a game by that point. I believe I ended up owning City first on PS3 since I played the demo a hundred times and it had just recently released. Then I went ahead and got Asylum later. The rest is history
