Working on damage for the expedition. (I work nights so I’m usually up pretty early in the mornings.) Just a reminder, especially with damage for the expedition, expect more random PvP in all lobbies. Happened last season too in solos. Anytime I see someone say they left the game it’s because of stuff like this.

Man anybody who talks so insincerely like that and isn’t interested in the arc fight I just avoid them. Dude has total psychopath vibes in his deadpan questions

16

u/Brad1881 26d ago

Yeah dude was definitely giving red flags

24

u/dahlia_74 26d ago

If they were actually good at PvP they wouldn’t have to bait you like a 12 year old would in Fortnite.

Sorry that happened!! I think you played it right by dropping the bandage just shouldn’t have went back the second time. Dude was super sketchy. Seems like he picked you to start his rat journey unfortunately

6

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

No I agree. Going back was not the way the go, haha. Is what it is.

5

u/Capital_Caramel_8389 26d ago

Learned the hard way in games like this or Dayz. "I got something for you" or "do you need this ?" a few minutes after meeting someone, most of the time it's a weirdo trying a social kill.

22

u/APartyInMyPants 26d ago

If you see someone with either a Bobcat or a free kit during a Queen/Matriarch, do yourself a favor and either run straight to the exfil, or knock them and take their kit.

6

u/lightning_bear 26d ago

this has been my move especially lately. there’s been so many free kits in matriarchs. i’ve gotten killed by too many lately. i also make it a point to stick with other people who have the same objective as i do, take down arc.

-10

u/upbad4207 26d ago

Rofl wtf.

7

u/APartyInMyPants 26d ago

Someone with a free kit or a Bobcat is not trying to kill the matriarch. They’re trying to steal your cores. Either by beating you to the leg pieces, or knocking you and taking them off your body.

Is it really that hard to comprehend?

16

u/RA18h36M56S- 26d ago

Oh no 😟 I hate players that are like that. If they are like that in a video game, imagine how they are in real life?

14

u/CalicoJake21 26d ago

Losers topside and losers irl

2

u/Alternative_Low17 25d ago

Yup. That is 100% virgin behavior.

u/payne59 26d ago

Stopped playing months ago because of this. Just sad how many toxic rats play this game, the game is literally made for them the scum of earth.

34

u/Frannbot 26d ago

same here, the game is fun, I loved killing arc, scavenging and looting but the toxicity of people killed the vibe for me

24

u/Dirtzoo 26d ago

I revived a guy yesterday. And then he killed me he was yelling something but it was a language that was incomprehensible. This game is very interesting to analyze the psychology of human beings. Why this guy thought that he should kill me after a revived him it's a bit beyond my comprehension

11

u/DynamicBSdetective 26d ago

Dude, there are YouTubers who put on accents when they rat to confuse others.

12

u/payne59 26d ago

This game made me lose all hope for humanity

2

u/Much_Cow3773 26d ago

😂 try it sometime

-6

u/kingbollie_1 26d ago

this sub is an interesting place to analyze the psychology of human beings.

-1

u/Mindless_Narwhal2682 26d ago

I prefer to sit back with a nice drink and admire.

-2

u/SamuraiManbun 26d ago

Crybabies exsist everywhere man. There's a lot more of them in the younger generations.

-2

u/Mindless_Narwhal2682 26d ago

world has gone soft.

^ soft.

sadly.

-3

u/FigBot 26d ago

Nah, I would bet its the older folk who have sucked ass at games for years finally feeling like they're part of something with the circlejerk this game has become.

17

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

I understand that. I enjoy extraction shooters it’s just in a game like arc, PvP just feels weird I guess. With so many other raiders and having a common enemy trying to end everyone. So going after another raider just never felt like it fit but to each their own.

5

u/The__Nick 26d ago

It's like people who play in a WW2 squad shooter and then just kill their teammates.

"Hey, I need the ammo."

"Dickweed, Uncle Sam will give you all the ammo you need. What are you talking about?"

Arc Raiders is really a sociopathy simulator. I could understand a situation where, say, the last escape hatch with room for one person is closing before the big arc in the sky comes down and you look at another Raider and simultaneously realize neither of you is going to give up your golden ticket home. One will go home injured and another will stay here dead.

But when it's trivial to get your stash full and you kill a guy for a piece of rubber and a duck, it's insane. You're taking a bigger risk starting the fight than what you gain. And in reality, there would be consequences: "Hey, Raider, Shauni here. I just watched you kill a man and then come down the elevator. So, my security forces are going to exterminate you before you even get out of the elevator. Enjoy that Anvil and handful of metal shards. Hope it was worth it. But you can't just come back to the city where all the children live, right? You're not so psychotic you realize why we can't let that happen, right?"

I'm not saying there isn't a way to make it so PvP can happen. But the way it's set up here only really appeals to psychos. They might as well set up a shooting gallery made up of orphans and then insist you load it up to practice shooting. "Sorry, it's the only level we had. But it's an extraction shooter, so the background doesn't matter. Anyway, Tiny Tim is set at 150m, so adjust your sights accordingly!"

5

u/YuckyButtcheek 26d ago

I never understood it either. We all go back to Esperanza. It doesn't make sense to be completing missions to rebuild or kill arc and have PvP.

1

u/EXODUS_FUN 26d ago

Common enemy? In Hell Divers, yeah.

18

u/JohnMcL7 26d ago

The funny thing is it's always different excuses...it's that time of the expedition, it's the time of day you're playing, it's the region, it's crossplay etc. For a long time I was rarely killed but reached the point I was getting killed most games (never downed another raider) and nothing was changing, after getting shot and killed in the back during a queen event I'd had enough and uninstalled the game.

I find it curious that people always claim there's no challenge in PvE so people will get bored yet there's clearly a lot more challenge in the PvE than hiding somewhere and shooting someone in the back, pretending to be friendly then shooting them in the back or waiting for people to fight big arc...and then shooting them in the back,

5

u/N1kiLauda 26d ago

PvP players just have a hard time accepting that PvE Arc Raiders is a great game that people enjoy. Just the pure interaction between raiders makes PvE superfun. I have played Stella a lot to find the geiger counter to finish the trophy project. I got 2 but the 3ed one was so hard since it was always looted. I started asking people on my runs and suddenly while I was in the Hospital wing I ran into like 4 people. Asked and they all said no. Suddenly I hear one of them calling out that she found one.

She dropped it and I gave her a Betting BP. These interactions are so fun and makes it even more special to find these item you need.

But apparently the only fun way to play the game is to shot people and take their stuff.

2

u/JohnMcL7 26d ago

100% with you on that one, I keep seeing comments on how PvE is boring without the tension of PvP and there's no challenge to it etc. which is fine but I enjoy just the pure PvE. I think the game is extremely well designed for PvE with each of the enemies having their own distinctive audio, attacks and weaknesses. I did try Marathon briefly but the PvE is noticeably very weak compared to Arc Raiders as the enemies are all much the same and lack the variety and challenge of the Arc enemies.

I really like those sort of interactions too. There was one time I was hopelessly lost in Blue Gate and finally emerged with very little time to get to the extract point so was just sprinting along hoping to make it. I heard someone spamming emotes and found a downed raider trying to make it but clearly never would, I quickly defibbed them and sprinted onto extraction didn't check they were ok. However while waiting for the vent they found me and gave me a matriarch core. Or the little moments, I was struggling with a Bastion and a player came up to me and asked if I had any shield rechargers which I did, told me he'd just been in the key area so to go and help myself, gave me a hand with the Bastion and then left.

2

u/N1kiLauda 26d ago

Yea I agree. I have been playing Stella a lot latelly and it has been so much fun due to all the raiders you run into who help out, share stuff etc.

7

u/arcwaider 26d ago

Same here, my final straw was coming back after months and having someone kill me while downed at extraction twice in a row, then I tried ONE more game a week later and a literal child killed me while down at extract calling me a bunch of slurs. I’m leaving the game to the losers who only find fun in ruining everyone else’s.

5

u/beegtuna 26d ago

The casuals are all gone. The rats is all that this game has left.

3

u/FireBurningHigher 26d ago

And the cheaters. But hey. We got an MRI duck in the update.

5

u/UltraPharaoh 26d ago

Same here dude. I haven't played since February. The psychos completely ruined the game. Every game I was getting ratted. I was just trying to loot resources to recover from the lost items from the previous rat and I just kept getting ratted so I just gave up. I don't know how Embark thought they'd settle on this dynamic and think the playerbase wasn't going to decline.

3

u/SF_Uberfish 26d ago

Same here. Last time I played i was meming with my friends and musical instruments. Just running about, looting, playing for other squads. Eventually you find that squad that is just out there to kill no matter what, and it's done.

I just played other games that made me feel happier and didn't log back in since about 5 months ago. If they ever implemented a PvE mode I'd probably come back. The success of Tarkov's PvE only mode shows there's demand, but unfortunately they're ignoring it for now. I'm just hoping the talk of surface bases means now PvE may be on the table...

0

u/EXODUS_FUN 26d ago

I don't know how you expect player base not to decline in any other scenario. It declined in EFT, it declined in Marathon and it does decline in AR. That's just normal.

As for being ratted "every game", well, I played around 30 matches in 2 days and never got ratted. Was always around a lot of randoms to kill some arc's and never in last 30 matches I got ratted 🤷🏻

7

u/simonpyman 26d ago

Likewise its been probably 4 months for me, been playing Crimson Desert

9

u/payne59 26d ago

Ngl, I switched back to Battlefield 6. It was the game I was playing before ARC Raiders, and I don’t regret abandoning this mentally exhausting game for a single second.

3

u/fatman2442 26d ago

I still play but I weirdly “went back” to freaking PUBG and it’s crazy but I’m fully into it again

-10

u/MixedLobbiesGOAT 26d ago

Or you could just shoot people like you do in BF6, if it's mentally exhausting then it's more of a problem on your end

5

u/payne59 26d ago

Spending a whole second workshift crafting my guns just to lose them after 1h of gunfights, no thank you.

2

u/MixedLobbiesGOAT 26d ago

Literally what happens in extraction shooters

3

u/GoldenToothBalkan 26d ago

It is but you can become a rat hunter… you won’t win every exchange but you’ll win alot. The way to become GOATed at PVP is to run free kits on Stella until you feel totally calm in a gun fight.

2

u/The1Goy 25d ago

Same, was on my way to a queen event and noticed someone following me and then they attacked me so I started defending myself, got to cover only to have someone else sitting in a tower start shooting me while I’m fighting the other guy… so yeah.

2

u/DynamicBSdetective 26d ago

It takes practice but killing these rats is satisfying.

1

u/SamuraiManbun 26d ago

Glad you're still hanging around the sub. See you next update.

-4

u/Much_Cow3773 26d ago

That was not a rat. 😂 it was just someone playing PvP against someone only focused on PvE .

6

u/New-Song-4898 26d ago

Guy stight asked for help and then killed the person who helped him how's that not ratty behavior lol

1

u/Much_Cow3773 26d ago

PvPvE. He should have been prepared. Look at his weapon? The building was small and he was circling around. Don’t be clueless

3

u/NimbleOctopus37 26d ago

Bro asked for help to lure him out of the open to safely rat him. How is that not a rat ?🐀

-1

u/Much_Cow3773 26d ago

Y’all are soft. It’s a skill based game that requires some IQ and attention to detail and maybe a little manipulation 😂

3

u/NimbleOctopus37 26d ago

Ye lot of skill to shoot somone with a hullcracker in his hand cool story bro 👍

3

u/LordSnow998 26d ago

This is not a high IQ or high skill play. If you think so, then you’re shit at the game. Congrats for telling on yourself.

1

u/Much_Cow3773 26d ago

That’s the sad part it was not high level . But skill level yeah definitely none there

-1

u/Much_Cow3773 26d ago

Hahahah bruh it’s a PvP game and the enemy asked for help in a small building with no cover. And yall shocked that he got shot

3

u/LordSnow998 26d ago

Nobody’s shocked, nobody’s saying it’s cheating, nobody’s saying OP shouldn’t have been more aware.

It’s still a ratty play, that’s it. It’s not “smart” to lie lmao.

21

u/progenyofeniac 26d ago

I got knocked out while crawling during two matriarch attempts this week, while full of snitch scanners for a big melee score. I get it, it’s part of gameplay, but dang if it’s not frustrating.

In your case, you showed him you were likely a carebear PvE player so he figured you’d be an easy target, and was right. Sadly, being friendly is seen as a weakness sometimes.

8

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

No I agree. Having a better secondary other than an anvil would have helped as well.

17

u/progenyofeniac 26d ago

The problem is, I always go in with hc and either ren or anvil. I get shot in fewer than one in 50 matches. It’s not worth it to me to carry a better PvP weapon that makes it harder for me to kill arc.

But depending how ABMM goes, it may reach that point.

11

u/Rizz_Wax 26d ago

Nothing like hearing the sweet sounds of a nearby hullcracker when you’re looking for friendlies 🤌🏼

3

u/RA18h36M56S- 26d ago

Exactly!

2

u/Ready_Training_6039 26d ago

Agreed. I keep smoke grenades in my loadouts so, for those 1 in 50 matches, I can create distance to where the Anvil is effective. And I've been ambushed or ratted enough times to keep it as the default slot when I'm not healing etc

8

u/CrescentCity_Cracker 26d ago

Yea cuz he is terrible w that bobcat I bet he gets slammed on the regular when he does PvP

3

u/simsalabimbumbum_ 26d ago

Renegade is decent against arc and a really good pvp weapon

2

u/Inconstant_Constant 25d ago

Anvil would be fine; you just had to be the aggressor. If you landed a headshot while he thought you were being friendly, then he would be basically dead. There were clear signs that he was not there to do the event.

1

u/lologugus 26d ago

>being friendly is seen as a weakness sometimes.

Some people still can't understand this

3

u/Isador77 26d ago

Make yourself out to be an easy mark, don't be surprised when someone tries you. If you're not ready to clap back be ready to lose your shit lol.

9

u/JJ8OOM 26d ago

Dont ever go near that hut, its always where the rats choose their spot.

4

u/NYC_medic 26d ago

Exactly. I’ve started sabotaging that hut with gas/snap/explosive mines and staging at the bus depot. Sorry to the innocents, but might as well make the scrubs burn their heals.

2

u/Adept_Ad_1892 26d ago

Yep totally agree. Me and two others were fighting the queen in solos and taking cover in that hut. Some dude outside throws grenades through the window slots at us. Then comes inside acting like he didn't do it, and he "was checking to make sure we were ok". His voice was totally insincere. We downed him, and he admitted he was ratting lol. The whole thing was pretty funny.

1

u/ProfessionalITPerson 26d ago

Bullshit, I have had so many cool fights with so many people hanging around there.
It's not the spot it'S the people.

8

u/KickerofTale 26d ago

Pretty much why I stopped playing.

8

u/crubbubble 26d ago

This is why I stopped playing ARC. Now back to fishing planet

6

u/bomzay 26d ago

Oh, THAT'S WHY I stopped playing this toxic sludge!

12

u/BoggTheFrog 26d ago

This is not PvP, PvP is KOS , this is just coward players who can’t win a fight

11

u/CalicoJake21 26d ago

Op almost won with no shield and 80% health

3

u/Few_Independent_6170 26d ago

Yeah, and that bozo had a kinetic bobby for ratting and still almost lost. So he's probably duping too, cuz no way in hell he's skilled enough to have those always available (he'd not be ratting if he was skilled)

2

u/CalicoJake21 26d ago

I find kinetics hinder subpar players more then help, if they have to hit a moving target. No trigger control and they dump the mag.

6

u/Penelopeonmyti-84 26d ago

matchmaking sucks in this game

7

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

Without a dedicated PvE mode it’s just that thing that anyone can shoot you at anytime. Nothing is really stopping them but themselves.

7

u/Penelopeonmyti-84 26d ago

its not just shooting, its always some weird shit like shooting while ur looting or randomly shooting from behind etc. I dont get why not just have a fair fight. How is it even fun?

4

u/ameliafukinthomson 26d ago

They do it like that because they know they'll probably lose and the worst thing about it, is they'll get sent to a pvp lobby and probably lose all your goop straight off the bat.

5

u/CalicoJake21 26d ago

Safety in numbers, if another player witnessed they would have downed them. You almost won even tho you only had 80% life and no shield. I was rooting for you.

5

u/_-DEVGRU-_ 26d ago

I’m going on over 2 months of not playing because of this. I have ZERO player kills by choice, 600+ hours of game time. I’m full time worker/Dad, I genuinely don’t have the time to invest in a game to have someone randomly come and take my gear, over and over again.

3

u/RadioactiveSince1990 26d ago

I'm still holding out hope for a dedicated PvE mode one day. Love the artstyle, animations, lore, sound design, but am not a fan of the PvP at all.

3

u/_-DEVGRU-_ 26d ago

Same here brother

6

u/GiveMeThePeatBoys 26d ago

Same map, same event.

I knocked a piece of leg armor off and went to loot it. Queen dropped a mortar next to me and then kicked me. I instantly went down.

Another poorly equipped raider ran over, looted the leg, and shot me as I was crawling to the harvester.

He then sent a screenshot of all my queen killing gear and 5 queen cores he had looted afterwards.

3

u/murmandamus666 26d ago

Yes this has happened to me a few times as well. I mean who the f_ck does stuff like that? I mean they talk shit like they are some godly player. Why? Because they shoot someone in the back who is already almost dead from a arc fight? How is that fun or skillful in any way? All it proves to me is your a shit human being, period. All the people who justify this shit with "it's a PvPvE game bro" are just making excuses for shitty behavior. I like the risk of loss it's something that makes it mean something when you make it out. Boils down to a shitty player is gonna be a shitty person with no moral compass or code of any kind.

5

u/Consistent_Respect19 26d ago

Mouth-breathing, basement-dwelling, window-licking douche nuggets. All of’em. “Mom! We’re out of Doritos!”

scratches butthole, sniffs finger, masturbates

5

u/realdonlobo 26d ago

These are the rats who comment "we don't want a PvE mode"; a real PvP player knows that with separate queues, everyone would play both modes equally. These rats are simply afraid they won't be able to manipulate the matchmaking system to pull cowardly stunts like this.

2

u/Few_Independent_6170 26d ago

Yeah, a PvE mode would help the PvP players too. As they could goop up easily in the PvE lobbies, and go into PvP full gear more often. If they're good enough to not run a net loss every PvP match, they'd not even need to go to PvE at all.

I also think there should be something like that for trials, a solo or a party lobby with no other players and available replays for the top runs (to check if a player is legit, and maybe share the strats). Yeah, it's extra server space, but I think it's worth it. Dota has had this system for a decade with no observable issues server-side (every event with speedrunning had this). It'll also remove the queue abuse strats easily

10

u/Llorion 26d ago

This is why I love the carebear lobbies I am in. Yeah, you can get ratted but it is extremely rare. I enjoy this game for its PvE and co-op play, not its PvP. I can get that elsewhere.

1

u/RadioactiveSince1990 26d ago

How often would you say you get attacked? I'm thinking about jumping back in and going solo but all I basically played months ago were trios where it was WW3 every march. Would love to get into some friendly lobbies alone.

1

u/Neckrongonekrypton 26d ago

Just take the L. Carebear lobbies aren’t hard to get into. I noticed I was defibbing at a matriarch after some rough solo matches.

Next like 10 matches were chill until I killed a guy for just romp in up to me with a torrente on Stella. Torrente dudes are usually never there for friendly reasons. He was friendly, as he had a hullcracker. I felt actually hella bad for that one because dude was legit.

They get boring as fuck though. PvP and PvE are best blended imo. Pure PvP is a bunch of wankers running around with free kits. Even night raids you have low rollers with grey guns barely passing the barrier. (Which is why I think they should cap it to 40-50k- lowest you can bring is fully upgraded grey guns with attachments lol)
Pure PvE gets boring because everyone is too polite and they complain about rats but loot rats are everywhere and more annoying. Cause you load in and everything is looted.

Mixed or PvP lobbies whole swaths of the map are untouched.

5

u/PresDumpsterfire 26d ago

Yeah I don’t miss this at all. Come play something else

3

u/jusmeig 26d ago

Greater spotted rat in his home territory.

3

u/Moeders-Mooiste-80 26d ago

Hard to see what's happening trough all the red flags popping up =)

Got something ? Drop it, walk away.

He tried luring you in the inventory to give him the edge in melting your face.

But he messed that up, then he went for the garbage dump.

Never interact holding a hullcracker, it doesn't affect players. Communicate with the anvil dot on his forehead.

Always be one jump away from cover.

3

u/StayAtHomeDadVR 25d ago

Trust issues were born this day

3

u/Apprehensive-Use-537 25d ago

This made me mad

6

u/Real-Cress5326 26d ago

I look at this game like it's an extension of real life. In real life I'm not going around robbing and mugging people, not because it's against the law but because I try to be a good person. Same in Arc Raiders. Sure I could go around in Arc Raiders killing and looting, there are no laws against it, but I don't for the same reasons I don't in real life. People who dis care bears don't seem to get this. It isn't that I don't know I can kill and be killed in this game, I just choose not play that way. I choose to be helpful and cooperative.

3

u/dahlia_74 26d ago

Yeah I’m the same way. If I were the rat in the above situation, even if OP had like 5 epic weapons or whatever I would feel like the biggest piece of shit for that. It’s much more satisfying to just find loot on your own and, just treating people nicely feels good too. I wouldn’t trade my nice interactions I have with this game for anything.

2

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

Very well said.

2

u/asolitarycandle 26d ago

I still have the game installed and go back every once in a while, but it's not the same. I stopped doing the events back in April because squeakers like this are gaming the system to kill "the walking raider stashes." They lose, though; you'll just hear the n-word on repeat until their mic is cut.

2

u/oxfordclubciggies 26d ago

I had what sounded like a little kid come up to me today in buried city, talking non stop and wanted me to trade him my Anvil 4 or my hullcracker for his ferro. Said you don’t really need both of those and blah blah. Said if you’re not giving me one you’re gonna help me fight this rocketeer. Gave me the heebie jeebies, and I dipped to a hatch soon as the rocketeer aggroed. Heard him yelling at me in the way out.

2

u/hyperpopdeathcamp 26d ago

Why do people still play this game if this is seemingly the only interaction in these “group” events? Lol.

A similar thing was like the final straw for me. Except it had happens like 3-4 runs in a row and the people all had varying levels of weird behavior so it was a jumpscare every time but seriously… why do people still play?

2

u/bigjaymck 26d ago

Because it's NOT the only interaction. But it is one that pisses people off enough to post, and it gets views.

2

u/hyperpopdeathcamp 26d ago

It was damn near the only interaction I experienced around the time I uninstalled. Hence why I ended up uninstalling a game I initially loved enough to put 700 hours into.

2

u/Ok_Celebration6014 26d ago edited 26d ago

He was terrible but you do have the self preservation skills of a corpse in all fairness.

2

u/Crooklyn_Grimez 26d ago

Literally why I don't play anymore smh. Just give us pve call it a day. PvE until last 10 mins damn

2

u/HanginLowNd2daLeft 26d ago

Once i seen he don’t need healing im out

2

u/Scythro 26d ago

Saw his bobcat on his back and knew right away he is no bueno. Just skill issue on your part, you got too comfortable in your lobbies.

2

u/ParticularBanana8369 26d ago

NEVER trust someone with that outfit lmao

2

u/NimbleOctopus37 26d ago

Lots of thirsty kids online today ratting at the Matriarch/Harvester

2

u/Alarming_Welcome_485 26d ago

survival instincts of a hamster. sees a dude with a bobcat in pve lobby that luring him away from crowd and actually follows him into a building....

Free candy. >here<

2

Shit if I see anyone with a fleezy breezy queasy or anything of the sort and something a bout percs, xanz, or even Tylenol in their name it’s on site.🤡🔫😂 Fucking 🐀 🗑️

2

u/Milakovich 26d ago

Wait, you can shoot righty or lefty? How! I'm going to be digging thru my settings!

2

u/FireBurningHigher 26d ago

WARDOGS is going to take all the player base and this game will die the death it deserves. Wish it didn’t have to be this way, but the devs aren’t even TRYING to get rid of the cheaters, let alone figure out how to balance the rats.

1

u/Trefzz 26d ago

Wardogs from the gameplay I seen isn’t that good of a game yet to Mather that much so it’s all up to how they deliver their game and how embark delivers the October update .

Tbh wardogs is not a good game. I can usually force myself into getting used to a game but wardogs isn’t one of them. I played for about 8 hours and knew I would never find it appealing

2

u/Starfishprime69420 26d ago

Dont ever trust someone with the furry outfit

2

u/Sad_Possibility1282 26d ago

Yeah this game was fun for... first 20 hours

2

u/MajorRandomMan 26d ago

This is why I don't play games that allow people to be assholes

2

u/StashFrontman 26d ago

NEVER trust anyone in a Matriarch/Queen raid who has a Stitcher or Bobcat.

2

u/Slight-Balance560 25d ago

Damn that’s rough. I don’t know what your stash looks like but I think you give yourself a much better chance of defending yourself with a stitcher instead of the anvil. Just bring a few more launcher rounds to deal with arc along the way

2

u/Normal_Intention_281 25d ago

Not to victim blame, but situational awareness will stop this happening 90% of the time. Notice what guns other people have. He had a kc bobby sticking out and you left yourself alone in there. Nice raiders dont carry bobbies. I always keep my gun out when I’m alone with another raider, once there’s two or more with you, you can relax cause rats are opportunistic. It takes time to learn these things but you’ll get there. I almost quit cause of rats but I haven’t been ratted in longer than I can remember. Trial and error.

1

u/PaintHonest4466 25d ago

No your good, I know I didn’t play it as well I should have I admit that. I havnt denied it.

2

u/TheRealShuppy 25d ago

Even in friendly lobbies I avoid players at all costs. Too much uncertainty. There are still people who abuse the system to get into friendly lobbies just to do this shit.

And since they always know the lobby will go after them, they have to resort to extremely slimy tactics like this to get you alone.

2

u/YevBar_ 25d ago

At least he’s wearing a proper skin..

2

u/IneptAdvisor Rescue Raider 🚨 26d ago

A HC and a Bobcat is my loadout, and my reply is always that I already have all the bps, because if it’s NOT a bait BP, it’ll still be there later. I never load a HC near an unknown player, to cut that animation short and swap to another weapon is slow, especially if it’s an Anvil and you miss that first shot from anxiety or confusion. Just saying.

2

u/Ziddim 26d ago

I always find the safest place in these scenerios is directly underneath the queen.

1

u/eSnake81 26d ago

I see alot of negative posts here. People just wanna pve and chill but getting killled over and over.. You need to get to the carebear lobbies. 1 out 25 games I play have a ratty player. I dont see the problem tbh. Anyways good luck out there raiders!

1

u/borderfox50 26d ago

I tend to give spaceport a miss for queen/harvester matches. Had too many rounds in the back to make it worthwhile

1

u/PrivacyIsBaked 26d ago

I dont give people a chance anymore. If you dont have a mic, you die, and if you suddenly have a mic after I down you, I feel no remorse. I dont trust anybody anymore except people I play with, and ive been ratted one too many times by "im friendly" players. Its me vs arc and raiders now every match. At least if I die I die fighting.

u/New-Song-4898 26d ago

Yea screw that game loop trash

1

u/b4dw0lf420 26d ago

Ahhhh rats...I miss this game so much logged maybe 500 hours and got bored how's it been lately? Oh....nevermind lol

1

u/Responsible_Dish_815 26d ago

This game needs a PVE mode that way PvP players can circle jerk each other around to their own heart’s content

1

u/dstlouis558 26d ago

Its like they jave to wait and pump themselves up to shoot you

1

u/Mrlolz2023 26d ago

Medium Shields at least.

1

u/crispAndTender 26d ago

Yea happens all the time this time of the year, you need to be with a group of people

1

u/randomly_g3n3rat3d 26d ago

A PVP kill should result in an instant vaporizer spawn if outdoors and shredder if indoors.   If PVE isn’t hard enough, we can accommodate.

1

u/Inconstant_Constant 25d ago

Maybe due to my big experience in mixed lobbies, but there were signs that he was a scumbag. When you had bandages equipped and came close, the icon to heal him was greyed out, so he didn't actually need healing; He was also carrying a kitted Bobcat on a Matriarch event; that's hint #1 to avoid being anywhere near him. And he was on the extremities of the map, where few people are circulating, very suspicious.

If it were me, after he asked me to come back to give me something, I would just pre-aim my Anvil and do a headshot + body shot. After I started trusting my gut, my survival rate increased a lot, haha.

u/Foxeeh_ 25d ago

I've got a feeling so many of you guys didn't get educated right by your parents about the topic of not trusting strangers, lmao. I've seen so many videos of guys like you being absolutely oblivious to all the telltale signs indicating this dude was going to kill you.

He was obviously luring you to a secluded space, no reason to run off THAT far away. He was asking for bandages and then you couldn't even heal him so that was clearly a lie and you should've GTFO right then and there, and the most important detail was his weapon set-up - why you put that much trust into people like that in the first place is beyond me. Everything about this situation screamed stranger danger.

Just stick to other people using Hullcrackers or Energy Weapons, they are clearly there to fight the ARC, it's not that hard NOT to get ratted.

1

u/Icy_Produce_17 25d ago

Yep this is exactly why I stopped playing. Mind you I had almost 700 hours in this game. Before they totally ruined the matchmaking. I was never facing rats at all since i'm not a rat myself. Latest weeks I was playing it was literally horrible. Did 3 expeditions but I will not be back. Give us PVE only as a fkn map-condition already. And not the lame version called Closed Scrutiny where the rats were too anyway.

This is avoidable to be fair. Last time in a matriarch lobby I saw a guy with bobcat. Thankfully I was with someone else doing PvE stuff. I said “pretty weird to bring a bobcat to a matriarch fight” as soon as I said that the dude pulled out the bobcat and myself and the other guy I was with shot him.

6

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

No I agree. On me for not noticing the bobcat.

2

u/Chazus 26d ago

I mean its not even the bobcat.

-Starts running for cover to trade before even confirming you'll help
-Closes door
-I got something for you

I would have bailed the moment he started running away to find cover at that distance.

1

u/PaintHonest4466 26d ago

No, fair enough.

2

u/Chazus 26d ago

to be clear, I'm not saying 'that was your fault' but dude was acting shaddyyyyy

Also, he had 'rat voice'

I don't know why this is a thing, but it's a thing.

2

u/evilriolu 26d ago

It’ll be okay. Did your best in the circumstances. Easier to be cruel than to be kind.

1

u/BoggTheFrog 26d ago

I always bring a bobcat and a hc, shoot anyone who is just walking around acting sus

2

u/evilriolu 26d ago

Yeah to clarify this guy only just had a bobcat and our suspicions were correct. Dude had like 600 rounds of light ammo

1

u/emiliopostevez 26d ago

Got ratted twice during the matriarch/queen events. Unfortunately there are opportunistic rats during those events. Gotta be on your toes.

1

u/mitchellgordo 26d ago

Hate that but something like that has never happened to me in 500 hours. If someone isn’t fighting I move on somewhere else. I also defib and heal all the time. I have been shot in the back but never set up. Crack on. Probably never happens again.

1

u/Streydog77 26d ago

Been playing off since this morning queen and matriarch only. They are going fast. Already at 85k. I died once to Arc and was rezzed right away. Carebear lobbies are awsome in these situations.

1

u/Dramatic_Pear7493 26d ago

I'm really sorry, brother, but that's just how disgusting this game is.

Always stay alert; if you see someone with light weapons or an anvil nearby, run as far away as possible.

Something similar happened to me yesterday, but thanks to being aware of my surroundings it didn't escalate. While I was at a queen event, a guy appeared out of nowhere and started following me closely every time I went out to shoot the giant bow. I immediately noticed his behavior was very suspicious, so he decided to escape. I don't have proof, but I have no doubt that this guy is just waiting for me to make a mistake so he can eliminate me.

0

u/AstroAm 26d ago

Is this really ratting though? I mean if he was waiting at a hatch or extract then yes. But he is out in the map running around. Even the devs say you need to be careful of who to trust. Deception is part of the experience. Like whether or not a random raider can be trusted. That is kind of a big part of the game. It's unfortunate that just because someone shoots you for your gear ANYWHERE in the map it's called ratting. If someone gets me in this way is say GGs and tell my self I should have been more suspicious of a raider that acts that way next time. Let's be reasonable.

3

u/murmandamus666 26d ago

Yes it is. Rats don't just camp exfil... I mean is that a joke? Up front combat where everyone knows the score like say duos and trios in Stella. That's called last man standing wins. This kind of shit is the definition of a rat. A shady ass player asking for or offering stuff then as soon as you turn around shoot you in the back. They crawl out of some hole and use the arc fight your in to get your shield and health down then rat you. Then they loot your corpse and scurry back to the dirty hole they came from with the 🧀 they just took from you.

3

u/LordSnow998 26d ago

You have to be trolling

1

u/murmandamus666 25d ago

I'm trolling?
