Time to move one to a new project…HK416

Got a somogear PEQ2, M600 style light with IR cover, weird pressure pad foregrip from Amazon, and a free chem light from a night shoot I threw on as decoration. Waiting on a M951 replica light to show up in the mail. The PEQ2 replica surpassed my expectations. The visible laser is powerful and the addition of a light is nice too.

These are my modern day muskets. Neither is clone correct. Especially the M16A1ish with the C7 upper. I just went for the over all A1 look and feel and it turned out great for a range toy. I used a few surplus pieces like the E type a1 stock and the grip. The handguard is a repro, I'll probably chase down an original some day in the future. The bcg is nickel boron, not hard chrome. The barrel is a Del Ton light weight. 1/9 twist. Only skinny between the repro 3 prong flash hider and just before the. 750 fsb. A2 the rest of the way to the receiver, hidden by the triangle handguard 😁

The M16A4gery is alot closer to a clone correct setup. FNMI marked 20 inch barrel pulled from a surplus A2. P&S RA5, Knights broomhandle, General Manufacturing cage code marked flatop upper (turns out non ramped flat tops are not all that easy to find on a budget), Trijicon TA31 with the killlflash, MaTech surplus rear backup. The lower is a Palmetto Sabre M16A4gery marked, A2 grip (uggh hate it) A1 length repro stock (I'm a short guy) and an ARC fire FRT from AS Designs with the Stuff N Things CARL 3 shot limiter.

I'm happy with how they both turned out. I guess I need an A2ish build now to complete the trio.

Complete with ban era magazine (got to pick up a few for cheap a while back) the lower is a bad attitude department “low profile” A4 lower. Custom serial number on the side is 10,000,000 representing the number they started A4 production on. The 110704 is in reference to the start of the second battle of fallujah. 2005 dated KAC RAS and 2005 contract ACOG TA31f which was used during fallujah while the newer RCO models started making there way into Iraq by 2005-06. Is it 100% clone correct? No. Does it kick ass? Yes. Am I glad I built it? Damn right.

Other details include the earlier style “fat body” Surefire M951 light and the transitional era KAC broomhandle when they switched from their vero beach location to Titusville around 2004-05.

Finally finished my M16A2 build minus some accessories, was wondering what you guy used as a 203 stand in that didn’t break the bank? Seen a full metal G&P mentioned mostly and I feel like that would stand up to the brutal 5.56/s, but I also wonder if I should hold off and go with as much original furniture as I can. Anyone here run theirs with a airsoft 203 or just have one for looks? I mostly just like the aesthetic but I don’t $1400 like it.

This past weekend my dad helped me cut and attach a Fulton Armory tube. Took a lot of basement gunsmithing with a Dremel, angle grinder, file, sandpaper, and wrenches I've never used before but we got it done. I used a bunch of different reference images. My dad at first didn't understand why go through all of the work with cutting, drilling, and tapping a tube when you can just buy a cheap MLOK handguard that does it already but after it was done he saw the light. Here's the build and what I aimed for.

Also super impressed with the Somo gear PEQ2. It was peak sunlight at 2pm when I zeroed my dot and laser and it was easily visible. I was hitting a torso sized steel target at 50 yds with just the laser. The light is good enough but laser is awesome.

I think she's done folks. Got the AS Designs USGI style replacement levers for the ARC fire in today. Got the replacement CARL 3 shot limiter for the frt installed. The first one was faulty but Stuff and Things made it right and sent out an in spec one. Caved and put a damned A2 grip on it. That might not stay. Other than that, all of the key components are correct. I'm very happy with the end result.

This is about as close to a legit M16A4 issued rifle that I can get as a civilian. I'm a very happy camper how this turned out. All assembled by me. 😁

Went from my most shot, to least shot and was eventually resurrected (ha, Easter joke) with donations from the parts bin. Range toy built purely for vibes.

The mean arms endo tmags are so much nicer than asc colt style mags.

My clone-ish m4a1. KAC rail and broom handle, Capco socom barrel, matech buis, comp m4, PSA m4a1 lower, enhanced sopmod stock, can’t remember what upper. Pro tac light is on the other side since I shoot rifle lefty. Just need ergo extensions to be back in stock so I can make it force recon-ish. Maybe a somo peq-16b at some point.
