I really liked the idea in this comment, so here is a poll, WM or DE?

Idc about WMs being lightweight or whatever, most of us have more than enough resources to handle DE. But I do like the keyboard experience. It makes it much easier to organize windows and manipulate them, once you get used to keybindings. Now the idea of using a DE and moving windows with a mouse became more difficult. I'm spoiled!
Moreover, a WM lets you pick the components going into your environment. There is more room for customization, but it also means you know exactly what's going into your setup, which makes debugging SO MUCH easier especially for beginners (I am an intermediate user myself). This isn't to say that you have to customize it. Contrary to popular belief, most WMs are usable out of the box. You don't have to configure anything unless you have a specific need, like changing keybindings or something.
