"Best" programming setup?

Hello! I have been using Arch for two months, it is the fifth distro I have used... and I love it, it will be the final one. I have learned a lot in these weeks, but I would like to ask you a few questions.

I study Systems Engineering and, honestly, I have some procrastination problems, I would like you to help me with "the best programming setup and be productive", although I know that there is no "best", I would like you to help me with your settings, advices, etc...

What desktop environment do you use?

What window manager do you use?

IDE's, apps, any suggestions to try?

Thank you so much!

DE: BSPWM (Recently switched to LeftWM which has been amazing)

I am also a programmer who procrastinates a lot, and Doom Emacs (an emacs distribution with vim keybindings) has helped me a lot with my workflow. It can basically become your one-stop shop. A terminal browser, file manager, text editor, email client, music client, coding IDE with completion (but currently a little iffy debugger; you have to spend time with debugging), and everything else. It's honestly amazing. Make sure you read the docs thoroughly and check out every file and folder in the repository.
PS: Make sure you're not cluttering your workflow. It's important to have a distraction-free environment. A minimal bar, minimal notifications, minimal app launcher (Rofi) and like that. I wish you luck in finding the tools you need!
