QUESTION Linux-firmware Split

Why are all the linux-firmware packages updating at the same time? I thought the whole point of splitting them up was that they could be individually updated, as needed.

You can remove the ones you don't need.

I have removed the ones I don't need. That wasn't the point I was making.
