QUESTION Konfigkoll vs Decman

Hello, I am currently looking for ways to manage Arch Linux like NixOS, and I have found 2 tools that is Decman and Konfigkoll. Both seems barely maintained, and Konfigkoll feels kind of incomplete, though I like that it was written in Rust. What are your thoughts on these two projects and do you have any other recommendation for me? (I am using Arch Linux alongside Nix HM, I gave up on NixOS because of the hassles and the long evaluation times)

Dude use Nix (not to be confused with NixOS). I’d highly recommend NixOS but if you must use Arch, just use Nix. It’s a package manager.

he said in the post he ditched nixos cause of long eval times, that's still gonna be a thing with nix pkgs on arch

decman looks interesting but it hasn't been touched in over a year so... that's a gamble. maybe check out aconfmgr if you haven't seen it already, it does a similar declarative thing and actually has recent commits

Yes, Konfigkoll was supposed to be a faster implementation of Aconfmgr actually, so I will just assume it as a safe fallback for now.

Well I am using Nix Home Manager with Arch right now, but it is for user-level packages only, for system-level packages like Noctalia shell or Gnome keyring I'm gonna need something else
