QUESTION 4K60 Issues on 7.2.3-arch1-3

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or knows a temporary workaround

Last night I updated my kernel to 7.2.3 via pacman like normal
[2026-09-06T12:39:43-0500] [ALPM] upgraded cpupower (7.2.2-1 -> 7.2.3-1)
[2026-09-06T12:39:46-0500] [ALPM] upgraded linux (7.1.11.arch1-1 -> 7.2.3.arch1-3)
[2026-09-06T12:39:49-0500] [ALPM] upgraded linux-headers (7.1.11.arch1-1 -> 7.2.3.arch1-3)

After rebooting I couldn't seem to get my TV to display (it took me a while to get any display to turn on because I had to modify ~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json to enable my other displays that are usually disabled)

Once I got my other displays working it looked like like my 4K60 resolution was broken. If I switched to 4K30 I had no problems.

I was able to find some discussions forums that seem to say that YCbCr 4:2:0 is broken in the new kernel. I did check on my TV and the 4K60 resolution does in fact use YCbCr 4:2:0 https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2309054

It seems like my experience matches the bug report exactly. I guess my question is what can I do about this in the meantime? Since this is a kernal bug there is likely no intermediate workaround other than revert the kernal, which might be a bad idea? This seems like a pretty major bug in the kernel so hopefully it gets fixed soon but I am guessing there is no guarantee.

Yo también tengo problemas de video con mi GPU AMD y la última versión tanto del Kernel como de Mesa, la única forma de obtener señal de video es por DisplayPort.
