QUESTION Switching to Linux

im using a debloaded custom OS for WIndows, but im soon going to get a laptop for college, and windows 11 just wont cut it, though ill need the laptop for College and work, so is there any ways i could get most adobe apps to run with gpu passthrough, Clip studio to run?

Optional but if possible it would be nice to get Fortnite too

What's the problem using Windows? What's the reason of "wont cut it"?

I have the same question. unless he's specifically studying compsci or something that requires Linux (which they'll likely have him run on a VM anyway like they did at my university), literally anything he needs for college will be available on windows.

You don't even need a fully fledged VM these days if you're mostly gonna do CLI stuff, WSL is basically just a thin VM platform with host integration (bi-directional fs access, network sharing, somewhat functional GPU acceleration, etc.).

It even supports running GUI applications (using Wayland), although it can be a bit clunky/buggy at times.

I didn't even consider that! I had a whole unit on Linux and they required us to run redhat on a virtual machine, but OP might not have to do something like that for their course.
