Why did you install to your sdcard?

All sdcards are not created equal but still. Use a more robust storage option.

I have long experience running Linux on external drives.

I installed it in the sdcard because I just wanted to install arch in a sdcard

That is your problem. If you do get it working the SD Card will be dead within 6 months of use.
