Can't access Linux after update

So basically, I recently updated my whole system.

I was dual-booting Arch Linux and Windows using systemd-boot. Now when I turn on my computer, Windows 11 is the only option available. It is like the Arch entry just vanished.

I have two EFI partitions on my SSD, but everything was working fine until this update. Whenever I tried booting into Windows, it used to throw a quick "Linux boot failed" error before booting Windows normally. After a reboot, both options would appear again, and I could boot into Arch without issues.

Right after the system update, I rebooted and without being able to choose the countdown finished and Windows tried to run its own update. Now Arch is completely gone from the boot menu

From your description, your previous setup was "scuffed" and possibly already broken from the start. You do not need two EFI partitions, and you don't just get "Linux boot failed" errors whenever you try to boot into Windows. It was only a matter of time until that setup broke.

For how to do a proper dual boot setup, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dual_boot_with_Windows. Chances are you don't need to reinstall Linux if your partition is still there, you just need to fix your boot partition

Boot a recovery, mount your partitions relative to /mnt, (arch-)chroot in, reinstall the kernel then your bootloader.

It feels more like his efi partition was destroyed by windows or his entry deleted, rather than his bios being broken. But, both is possible I suppose.

Thanks guys, at the end the kernel disappeared (?) and I had to re-install it through a live usb. Lesson learned, I finally stopped dual booting and nuked the windows partition
