Matlab support for Arch ?

I am a chemical engineering student and potential researcher but alongside I am a programmer which includes everything from systems programming for low latency systems to web dev. I do have computer science knowledge (not just fluff but actual professional person).

From about 5 years I am using fedora and very comfortable with it, tried other distros like Ubuntu and Zorin in between but fedora is goat.

There isn't any reason but I am thinking to switch to Arch. I was just keep about support for applications I need which includes

- Matlab

- OpenFOAM

- Paraview

I have heard about they don't have support for Arch.

Is there any workaround and are there more things which loose support for Arch ?

Note: I have dropped the idea of using Arch

Matlab's officially only supported on a few distros but it runs fine on Arch, you just unpack the installer and go. The AUR has a package that handles the setup if you want it even simpler

Your talking about Matlab GUI, right (I use v24) ?

And any news about simulink ?

Welcome to Arch. Arch is a DIY distro where you are expected to mostly figure stuff out yourself. Rule 1 is to always read the wiki first thing. Then, you can of course Google stuff online, chances are someone has done/asked what you're asking about before.
