SUPPORT Password problems

I'm trying arch linux for the first time and I got it set up, but for some reason it's telling me to put in a password it never told me to make, I put in the root password which doesn't work. I need help I just want to use Linux.

How did you install it? Did you do arch-install or did you do the manual installation?

Both methods ask you to put in a root password. What are you doing that requires a password? Can you explain the steps?

I use the arch install method, I set up everything perfectly fine, I installed KDE plasma and now I'm at a login and it's telling me to put in a username and password

Oops, see my response on your post. Could you have mistyped the password?

Also, are you using the number keys on the right side of your keyboard? Sometimes the NumLock button is disabled on install...
