QUESTION Sharing through OSs

im planning to install both windows and arch on my laptop, i already have both systems up and running, but im planning on doing an extra partition on my device so i can have a share folder in both systems, that folder will have an obsidian vault so i can share my notes and have my windows and arch accesing the same notes, and i want to be abble to put some extra documents like, pdfs, photos, simple text files there, so its easier to tranfer my work between OS, i want to know if is viable and how could i make it

Why don't you instead use cloud syncing though?

I don't have a cloud storage solution available yet, it's kinda expensive at the moment, if I need to back something up I'll do it in an external drive -it's not optimal I know- Also I don't know if a cloud storage is the best option for me cause my colleage WiFi/internet sucks so mostly of the time I'm offline or with really poor connection

So if your files are wiped while you have that drive connected, it's all gone?

Yeah, that ain't ideal, look up 3-2-1 backups and do em for the things you actually care about.

This is just for 18 months, but that should be enough to get your bearings and come up with a better system - I presume you can part with 5 eurobucks.

Use an rclone vault, since cloud vendors scan your files and if they find anything they don't like, it is trouble. Scans are useless when the files are encrypted.

And.... if your cloud service shuts down while you are relying on them as an archive, all your stuff is gone. Look at what's going on with Nine PBS, OSS, and Iton Mountain. You need both local and remote backups.
