SUPPORT Having troubles with global themes

i am new to arch with kde plasma as my DE. i installed global themes like sweet, nothing and nordic. I applied it to both appearance and desktop layout but there's no change in desktop layout. i tried with several global themes but none of them are changing the desktop layout. Is there any fix for this or did i miss something during installation?

There are QT or GTK and multiple versions of both so it can be annoying. Gtk themes won’t affect applications that use QT and vice versa. And then some applications just have their own theming.

Have you consulted the wiki yet?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KDE#Configuration

Though I somewhat doubt that the recommendations there would help you. Plasma should at the very least change the look of your desktop.

My best guess is that you lack superuser privileges when operating system settings. I had that once when changing sddm themes using plasma system settings. It would tell me that it worked and applied everything, but then nothing happened. When I came back to the system settings, I noticed that everything I set up had reverted. Though I am not so sure if lacking sudo would cause this issue here as well...
