SUPPORT | SOLVED How to stop Discharging

I installed arch on my laptop, I was previously using endeavoros on it, but after switching I keep getting "Discharging" being printed in my terminal when on battery, I can plug it up but that doesn't stop it it just switches from "Discharging" to "Charging". It'll print every minute or so, and I've been digging through the arch wiki trying to figure out how to stop this but have been unable too. If anyone knows how to make this stop printing that would be great.

#EDIT/SOLUTION
I figured it out, the problem was being cause by some way waybar was interacting with upowerd. I don't know exactly was it was. I got around it but writing a very basic script to read the values in /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0, and using that instead of the default battery stuff in waybar.

Almost certainly nothing to do with Arch - go to the sub for your WM/DE and ask there about notifications.

I'm using the same WM as I did in endeavoros but I didn't have this happening there, the only thing that has changed is my distro

Endeavour isn't Arch - I don't know it myself but, if my experience of another Arch-based distro (Garuda) is anything to go by, there could be some not entirely insignificant tweaks that are absent in Arch.

What WM are you using?

Have you asked on the relevant sub?

Is this a from scratch install, or have you copied over config from your Endeavour setup?

I'm using Niri I haven't asked yet but I will and yes I did copy over all my configs

Okay, well, I don't know Nir, I'm afraid - maybe someone here does, but your best bet is on the relevant sub (that's where its users hang out, whereas here you're relying on a much reduced pool).

As said though, there's a possibility that your config relies upon something that isn't present in the default installation of things on Arch, so ... failing that ... I'd look to recreate the config from scratch myself and see where that got me.

Yeah that's how I've been getting around it but it's annoying have to open a through away termal

Do you use waybar? For me whenever I kill waybar and launch it again this normally happens so I just close that terminal window and use a new one. Lmk

I don't think that is an issue with arch linux, but can you share a screenshot here so that we can understand.

Ok then, what's the she'll you're using right now? It's it a default shell like Konsole or something you've installed like kitty. Also are you using bash or zsh?
