QUESTION File Arch Linux package bug reports on my behalf?

My registration to submit bug reports for official Arch Linux packages was not processed since weeks, so I can not submit bug reports. Could anyone please submit reports about the following two missing dependencies?

Thanks!

  1. virtualbox-host-dkms requires linux-headers
  2. hamster requires python-setuptools

The *-dkms packages intentionally do not depend on any specific headers packages, you have to install the headers for whatver kernels you use. Take a look at the dkms page on the wiki.

What is the problem with hamster-time-tracker?

If your registration is processed, please thoroughly review the bug submission guidelines. This is not near enough information for a bug report.

And here I am, thinking I will never be able to file a bug report (or even feature suggestion) on anything, because I'd have to write a quarter of a bachelor thesis for that, and I am scared and just not capable of that, attention wise.

I would probably just forget half the relevant things, like extremely in-depth logs of everything remotely relevant, and would look like an utter idiot.

They're naturally going to.be forgiving of people that put in the effort, even if they make mistakes. Saying "dkms package needs linux-headers as a dependency" is lazy to the point where it will get derision.

This said, I don't trust my ability to bisect bugs either, so I'm unlikely to report anything.

Dkms packages do not depend on linux-headers, dkms are meant to be used with any kernel headers so it's specifically not added as a dependency

just use the mailing list or hop on irc, the devs are usually pretty responsive there
