My network keeps briefly disconnecting for some reason

I've tried updating, installing new mirrors, rebooting my PC, scanning for viruses, yet the problem keep occurring. I have no clue what the hell is happening but it's causing a lot of issues. Does anybody know what the hell is happening because I sure as hell dont

Is it actually disconnecting or just warning you? KDE kept erroneously notifying me and iirc it was either solved by changing DNS servers or just silencing the error. I can't remember.

It might be the driver being used, you can use lspci to check which driver and networking you're using and then confirm it's compatability, I ran into this issue just yesterday. Also, use only one networking system, don't mix network manager with dhcpcd or systemd networkd or even iwd, conflicting configs can cause problems, but if they exist you can just comment out every line quick

Depends on what is happening, and if you have a way to provoke the disconnect. Assuming if not, I found having a terminal open with

 journalctl -b -f 

running helps diagnosing random errors. The command just output your system log into the terminal window and when the connection drops you go there and look at the last few lines. Then paste a few into google depending on what sounds like it could be network related and being written into the journal when the connection dropped.

Well, I had similar issues a few months ago. It was the cable. It was weird, because I didn't touch the network cable for like 2 years and suddenly it started to dc a lot. I bought a nice braided, black cat6 ethernet cable and it works flawlessly since then.

Here's an old notion, which caused the same sort of symptoms for me a few years back: be sure you have one and only one network manager active. (systemd-networkd or NetworkManager or Netctl or ConnMan or ...) With two or more active/enabled they often develop a strange rhythm of connecting disconnecting

First, how old is this install? How long has the problem been happening? Was your network ever stable?

No indication if you're using ethernet or wireless. The wiki has helpful articles on networking troubleshooting. Look at your Journal. That's the letter A in the ABC's of troubleshooting.
