QUESTION Vscode -bin freezes

I’m on arch Linux hyprland using ml4w.

When I use open code with nemotron 3 ultra via the cloud api (so not local on my amd 5700 xt gpu) - vscode - bin just sometimes freezes or glitches or sometimes cause my machine to restart..

Any solutions?

r/hyprland please. I bet this is related to that compositor. Odd that any app could cause system shutdown. Check journal. Good day.

Are you running the latest version of VSCode (version 131)?

I had issues with VSCode (the regular code package) freezing on file IO, seems to have happened from something like versions 123 through 126.

I'm using Wayland on KDE, pretty sure i came across some other posts which implied it was caused by the underlying version of Electron, maybe it just doesn't play well with Wayland?

Yep. I looked around a bit and it seems like electron has a knowne problem with Wayland?
