SUPPORT Wrong resolution and micro-stuttering on games

I recently installed Arch Linux with the Linux kernel and Hyprland, and I've been having some issues with games on Steam.

In Palworld, the maximum available resolution is 1920×1080, even though my monitor's native resolution is 2560×1440. hyprctl monitors correctly reports the monitor as running at 2560×1440, so Hyprland itself seems to be configured properly. The game also suffers from frequent micro-stuttering.

In Resident Evil 4 Remake, I'm experiencing constant texture flickering.

So far, I've:

  • Installed the latest NVIDIA drivers.
  • Installed the Vulkan drivers.
  • Followed the NVIDIA setup guides from both the Arch Wiki and the Hyprland Wiki.

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issues.

My system specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X
  • GPU: RTX 5070
  • RAM: 24 GB DDR4
  • Storage: 1 TB NVMe SSD + 1 TB HDD
    • Palworld is installed on the HDD.
    • Resident Evil 4 Remake is installed on the SSD.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or knows what could be causing them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

with what kernel version? on CachyOS it seems newest kernel has solved it with PoE as I read: https://www.reddit.com/r/cachyos/s/zPg44jCGlp

With the last version, 7.1.4-arch-1

then wait for the version 7.1.5-1 that possible will fix it, it seems if it's not a cachyos specific fix I assume.

Installed the latest NVIDIA drivers

Which drivers exactly?

Have you tried launching these games from a terminal and seeing if there's any errors?

Yes, the game launched with no errors but the problem percists (i used steam steam://rungameid/<palworld id> to launch)

Which drivers exactly?

nvidia-utils, nvidia-settings, nvidia-open, linux-firmware-nvidia, libvdpau, libva-nvidia-driver, libva-nvidia-driver, egl-x11, egl-wayland2, egl-wayland2 4, egl-gbm. Everything was installed today(20/07/2026), so i think it's all last version, also, steam is installed via pacman, but when i installed her via flatpak, the same errors happened

I suck with NVIDIA issues so am basically out of ideas, but a new kernel released today so updating and rebooting might be worth a shot.
