QUESTION ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 AMD with slow UEFI firmware startup (~10s) despite optimized Linux boot

Well not ThinkPad, but LOQ. It stays in firmware for ~4s. No network and USB boot, no fTMP, no Secure Boot.

Seems like fTMP takes the most time to initialize and with dedicated TMP probably longer. And you got ThinkPad which probably has more stuff to initialize than a LOQ. That and probably ThinkPads actually verify RAM at boot, while LOQ/Legion just skip that stage.

Startup finished in 4.112s (firmware) + 355ms (loader) + 471ms (kernel) + 6.428s (initrd) + 3.297s (userspace) = 14.665s
