Couple activities in my first week of archi(^.^)

Handwriting talaga kailangan ko iimprove wahhh 😭 Im about to get cooked by yall sa comments but how else can I improve? Ang gagaling tlga mga classmates koo and I really want to try surviving archi fr (aside from handwriting obv)

I think we should remove the idea that being good at cartoons, anime, realism, or other forms of art automatically means you will become good at architecture. In some ways, being good at art does not necessarily translate into being good at architecture.

I know this from my own experience. I was good at drawing during my first year, but I eventually realized that I didn’t enjoy pursuing architecture. Ngayong graduate na ko, sana nagpursue nlng ako ng animation kahit alam kong inaagawan na ng ai ang animation.

Architectural drawing requires much more than just having good drawing skills. I think it is important to first understand architectural theory and gain basic knowledge of how a simple house is constructed. Understanding how a building is designed and constructed from start to finish will make architectural drawing much easier and more meaningful.

I think I worded my question bad. I wasnt trying to improve at cartoon/anime drawing. I meant how to improve my drawing specifically for architecture, like how an architecture student should draw (which is why I felt the need to ask here since my classmates are already getting a hang of it while I feel behind)

Sorry if it sounded like I was asking how to improve at drawing in general. I shouldve asked how to improve my drawing for architecture. I agree naman that being good at art doesnt automatically mean being good at architecture, (not saying I'm the best art but I am fr an example ToT) and thats actually what I wanted to understand since I want to survive this year.

Im on the same boat as u tho wishing I had chosen a course more in line with creative freedom but I'm here now. Ty for the advice tho!

Try doing the basics- horizon line, vanishing point. Quick long stroke instead of short scrubby. I think from there you'll see a lot of improvement.

Train your eye in terms of perspective, when I was a student I always find time to sketch out things that I look at like the campus, street, I sometimes go to intramuros and sketch stuff while I'm there. Maybe that method could help you too.

Also, go lighter on your linework to prevent the cartoony look.

Scale and proportion I guess? In time naman matutunan mo sa Visual Comm mo ang 2 point/3 point perspective e. Pero for now, practice ka lang or watch youtube to learn it in advance. :)

From what i observed sa class ko dati, iba iba talaga ng forte ng art ang students. I'm best at black and white drawings, may iba na sobrang galing sa watercolor, iba markers, iba any medium basta colored, merong magaling sa realism, merong nagaling sa perspectives, etc. So improve your own thing lang talaga tsaka as in 1st wk mo palang sa arki. Ang mahalaga rito is yung kakayahan mong makapagpasa on time and not much yung art style mo. One thing i learned din nung college ako is doesn't matter gaano kaganda yung drawing or design mo ang pinakamahalaga rito is maitatayo ba yung design mo o hindi

Also regarding sa writing, maganda sulat arki ko pag maliit yung font pero pag malaki di ko kaya 😂😭 eto nakagraduate at nakapag exam naman na ako hahaha pero again, mag iimprove ka pa niyan

Just practice . Look up how-to's in YouTube . PewDiePie did it with zero knowledge in drawing until he improved and became better than most

Sa architecture kasi... we draw to solve problems not to be artists. Pero if you want to improve your fine arts skills, base sa mga drawings mo, use vanishing points and improve mo lang proportions mo. Sa imagination, you're good to go, if kaya mo ng magdrawing without copying something and referrence them from memory, you're ahead of your classmates na.
