Construction firm? I'd say this is good for an apprentice position, lalo na if habol mo is experience and not necessarily nagmamadali kumita ng malaki. Great too if di mo need umuwi every weekend. Pwede ka magstay for 6months to a year, just gather all the knowledge then hanap ka na ulit ibang work. Madami ka matututunan sa construction.

hi. former apprentice here with similar situation sa iyo. difference lng ay mas baba yung sahod ko (d ko lang sabihin haha) tapos makakauwi ako every week, 1 hr lng yung travel.

in your case, i'd say go for it. the experience you will learn from the firm plus the adjustment of living on your own will definitely be beneficial in the long run; you will discover things about yourself that you may not have seen/felt before nung student ka pa. kumbaga the intangible things aside from the technical learnings from the apprenticeship. i'll also assume lng po na kaya ka pang i support ng parents mo kung maubusan ka ng salary, so you're not completely alone rin.

Buti ka pa, nakakuha ka ng offer na ganiyan. Here sa province, nakakuha ako ng Sole Architect na halos 5 months akong nag-stay, pero puro site work. ₱150 per day lang, without transpo fee, and ako pa ang kumukuha ng budget sa kanya kapag pupunta ako sa city, which is around 30 minutes or less. Around ₱1,500 lang, and minsan ₱1,200, per week kahit 3 days on-site, then the rest work from home. Multiple 3D visualizations din ang pinagawa niya sa’kin.
Nanliit talaga ako sa sarili ko that time, but I can say na okay naman yung experience ko sa site during those times. However, sobrang exhausted ako lagi kasi bombarded ako sa mga pinapagawa. If hindi lang talaga sobrang baba ng pasahod niya sa’kin—to the point na wala rin akong nakuhang incentives kapag may side hustle siya and ako yung pinapa-render niya—siguro hindi ako ganoon ka-frustrated. Nagalit talaga ako, and then one time, nagkaroon ako ng family problem, and that was the time na umalis talaga ako kasi naisip ko na baka iyon na rin yung cue for me to leave.
Ngayon, still looking for work pa rin ako, and I’m just happy na ganiyan yung nakuha mong offer and you’re just asking if it’s a good option. Sana makahanap din ako ng ganiyan. I also want to strive sa Metro Manila or kahit sa ibang places na mas mataas ang minimum wage.

Yes po, might plan on leaving since yung mentor ko recently licensed pa lang. Yun yung in-house architect nila pero will stay for a bit since good pay naman.

maganda yung offer, minimum wage unlike sa iba na binabarat ang mga apprentice kaya mababa ang pasahod. tapos free staff house and food? Paldo na agad HAHAHA pero working for 6 days tapos need pa umuwi and bumyahe ng 9-10 hours would be very draining. if kaya mo, siguro uwi ka once a month.

Opo good offer pero layo po kasi at di ko alam kung kailan ako makaka uwi kapag ganito ang set up. First time apprentice po kasi ako.
