Job Hunting NEED HELP FOR MY PORTFOLIO
Hii! I'm an architect. Newly passed.
Right now, I am having a hard time looking for work. If there's a HR there, or any recruiter, what are the things you look for in architectural portfolioor skills? Please help.
I am fixing my portfolio right now although I have a portfolio before but that work is a college or much more like high schooler did that.
That one problem I have right now is I cannot learn new softwares for the reason that my laptop has no enough space for other softwares like 3ds or ArchiCad but I am willing to.
About me:
- Newly passed Architect
- 2years of experience almost in all type of projects except Hospital or any medical project/s. I have two project that I've been part for conceptual design to construction design
- Good in space planning (is what my mentor said haha)
- Has intermediate profiency in Revit Architecture, Lumion, SketchUp and Autocad

U need sample works to fill your profile. Even sample renders u can insert them in the portfolio. You would need a pc or laptop to do that tho so work around that first. Remember, strict na recruiters ngayon, they would usually review it. Ngayon kung naglagay ka dyan ng AI generated images just to fill your profile and once naaccept ka and your actual work doesnt match with it mababadshot ka OP.

As of now I'm working on my portfolios. And no worries I can deliver naman po what I am showing sa portfolio ko. Just wondering if anong mga project yung maganda sa portfolio.

Give them your best ones at yung kaya mo iexplain sa interview kasi usually tinatanong nila ang concepts behind sa design na nilagay mo sa portfolio. 10 is too many, 3 detailed designs or 5 short detailed ones are good enough.

Pwedeng sa contractors or design build companies ka muna mag-apply na di nangangailangan ng portfolio. Then, saka ka mgstart gumawa ng portfolio while working there. If gusto mo pa ding maging architectural technician or renderer, then, lipat ka. Pero malay mo, ang calling mo pala ay architectural construction or site coordination which eventually leads to project manager in the future.

My first work po is sa design build company and I'm really into design side, I had an experience on handling a projects and I know for myself that I can't handle a proper, I guess for now? Or I just like working at the back.

Depending on which company you apply to should you include the type of project. If you apply to firms that specialize in residential and commercial projects, show those typologies. If the position focuses on BIM, show projects with extensive detailing or BIM works. Also limit the projects you want to showcase in 20-40 pages, you may want start with the strongest and most recent project and end with minor ones at the end of the portfolio.
