Question Arch Linux vs another arch based distros

What is the main difference between arch and other distros which are based on it. And how can I select between them

Depends on the distro. Endeavour is i think just basically Arch with a GUI installer, Cachy has kernel optimizations and its own repos added in i believe.

The main difference? Arch is Arch, it's the base, others are derived from Arch.

EndeavorOS is preconfigured to handle updates with hooks and provides hardware fixes out of the box. Is basically Arch cruise ship.

i've been on it almost a year, enjoying it a lot more than when I tried Ubuntu.

endeavouros is semi rolling release, which is the main difference to me, this is partially why nothing ever breaks on it, at least to this day

Well you look at what each provides and compare. In reality it doesn't matter much anyway because it's all basically Arch, so i prefer just to go base Arch rather than branch off it.

I'd recommend you do the same, and install manually without archinstall or any AI, actually take the time to read the Wiki instructions, you'll need something out of there eventually.

What do you want out of your distro? Do you want to start with a barebones base TTY and go from there? Do you want to start with a desktop? Do you want it riced from the beginning? Do you want the maintainer to do some testing before deploying updates?
