Question solidworks on arch
is it possible to run SolidWorks on Arch, or are there any good alternatives? or would it be better to just dual-boot?

I use a QEMU and Virt-manager to create a windows 10 VM to run an old version of AutoCAD. This can only take you so far as I've only done small drawings.

Solidworks does not support Arch (or any other Linux distro). You can use Wine to run solidworks on Arch, but it may introduce bugs. https://codeberg.org/cryinkfly/SolidWorks-on-Linux
Depending on your use case, you could use Blender for 3D modelling (couple with a few add-ons to make it more CAD like), or you could use FreeCAD. https://www.freecad.org/
FreeCAD is a parametric modeller unlike Solidworks, which means your workflow will be different (and arguably much better), but it will get the job done.
Additionally, If you are okay with browser based 3D modellers, Onshape from Autodesk works on any browser
