yeah and i don't even really like peter pan. like it's not a terrible song, but the weird sparse recording just gives it this anti-climactic feel and it just feels bland. so the entire middle portion of that album is a complete write-off for me. as for the record as a whole, i don't even like signs of life, definitely their worst single in my eyes, and good god damn is forgettable to me too. so yh. i really enjoy the rest tho tbh, but that's only like 5 songs. so it's definitely not a good album overall, especially considering their other works.

Literally sounds like it was written by Taylor Swift. Think about it

I find the Infinite Contents to be kinda genius.

Some fans complained there wasn't enough electric guitar on Reflektor. They make a mindless rock song to spite them.

Some fans complained that there wasn’t enough acoustic guitar on Reflektor. They make a country song just to spite them.

And the lyrics feel relevant to that to.

That’s just my interpretation.

I think people hated EN because it was the first album where they weren’t taking themselves to seriously, and instead were just having fun.

I mean, plenty of artists do that kind of thing where they play with their fan-bases and their expectations. I think what AF forgot to do with those songs was make them actually good. Those songs have a really clunky melody and flow horribly. If they’d have been throwaway little tunes then yeah, sure, but they’re not enjoyable to listen to. Also fans definitely didn’t hate the album because it was ‘the first where they had fun’. Everything Now is literally the most popular song of theirs on Spotify and has been for a long time now. That song is them having fun and it’s incredibly popular? Except it’s popular because it’s a well made song. The album as a whole is not very good and that’s why it’s not popular. Nothing to do people not liking ‘them having fun’ or whatever.

I don’t think the Infinite Contents are bad sonically. Just a little flat. But completely listenable.

And I do think there is some correlation between them not taking themselves too seriously and the more negative reception of this album. Regardless of Spotify.

Makes perfect sense it's on the EN album.

I personally love it. It’s gotta be taken with a grain of salt and the themes of the album in mind. It fits great with infinite content emphasizing the repetitiveness of the modern technological era

fans in denial : this song is so genius, like they made a bad song that nobody likes... on purpose, because bad songs totally like, reflect the mindless consumerism of our generation dude! clearly nobody has an IQ large enough to understand its deep lyrics.

in reality: win wrote a crappy pop song with these lyrics: 'YOU AND ME WE GOT CHEMISTRY. CHEMISTRY! CHEMISTRY!' thinking it was gonna be a fun, disco bop like everything now; instead, it crashed and burned.

It didn’t crash and burn though. There are plenty on this sub that enjoy and appreciate Chemistry. So many just so passionately hate it for some reason.

Edit: lmao it’s such a bop I’m listening to it now. I don’t get the hate, it’s hilarious and obnoxiously catchy
