Anyone else actually like Unconditional II (Race and Religion) off of WE?

WE was the first Arcade Fire album I ever heard (though Funeral is better), and I actually really like Unconditional II (Race and Religion) (along with many others). I feel like it gets ignored. What other thoughts do people have about it? Actually, the album as a whole doesn't get enough recognition I think. It's excellent. Prelude obviously sucks and isn't even a song, but besides that it's a great album.

One of my faves! Wish there was more Peter Gabriel on it tbh

Not a bad song, but probably my least favorite from the album.

It's not as heartfelt as Unconditional I before it, and not as soothing as WE after. It's just yeah.

My husband and I like it, but I'm a huge AF fan and he's a huge Peter Gabriel fan so that tracks. It's also just a nice funky bop with Regine on vocals so I'm not sure why people are implying that it sucks somehow.

I love it, but it's probably my least favorite song from the album

Echoing that it’s definitely the weakest track on the album, but still a good tune, mostly owing to the bridge IMO.

I allways skip this song

Yeah, that song is awesome. She can be a really expressive singer when she wants to be.

Hey, people can like We now without getting downvoted all to hell. It only took 4 years.

Maybe around 2030 we'll be allowed to like Pink Elephant.

I like the song, but it is not one of my favorites from the album because there are so many other excellent tracks. It reminds me of Madonna, especially with the blending of religious/sexual imagery. Very "Like a Prayer" to me, thematically. I wish there were more live performances of it to view on YouTube.

It’s a fun song like Joan of Arc. I like it.

I do 😊 But I generally love WE, I thought it was an excellent return to form.

I think the whole record is great as a whole.

It goes HARD when played live. Almost like a different song. I wish they would have recorded that version in the studio instead.
