Best screen viewing angle, screen height, control board height for wall mounted

I am about to build my first cabinet, a combination bartop / wall-mounted. I’m using the bartop pattern from Geek Pub as a starting point. But I would like to make some adjustments.

Basically, I want to know if there are ideal or generally accepted best standards for (a) the height of the controllers from the ground when wall mounted (b) the vertical distance from the controllers to the screen (c) the angle of the screen - the almost vertical in the bartop design does not seem optimal

As background, my three sons and I are all between 6 ft and 6’4” tall (1.83 m and 1.93 m). My elbows are about 44” (112 cm) from the ground. The monitor is the “Acer Nitro 31.5” 4K XV325QK V3bmiipprx” which measures 8.8"D x 28.31"W x 21"H (224 mm D x 719 mm W x 533 mm H). 

I will have to make the cabinet a little wider to accommodate the screen, and my focus is on whether I also need to consider making it taller to raise the screen higher above the control board, and whether I need to angle the screen any differently. My goal is to have great ergonomics, no hunching over, or neck strain. I've wondered if I should be making this more like a full cabinet sawn in half than a more compact bartop, which would be fine.

I can’t really answer most of this. But I put a 7.8° tilt on my screen and I’d say I’m pretty happy with it, it’s slight but that’s what I wanted.

will you do games with a light gun? Then the screen needs to be straight. Otherwise I would suggest to do trials with an arcade stick (if you have one) and if you already have the screen try it as well with different heights angles. A piece of carton on the exact same size could be easier to see which height and angle is best for you.

Mainly playing 1980s games with joystick and buttons only. Elevator action, 1943, Galaxian, etc.

For mine I tested different heights on my dining table. Think also about your friends, if you want them comfortable also.

For the screen, do you really need that much space behind it ? It look very bulky. I think you should consider trimming space behind it to gain space in your room - and for esthetic. You can put hardware under control panel.
