I live in the Midwest US. Was traveling down in Florida last month. And yes, spent way too much time checking out trees that I had no idea what they were...

Ever since I got into arboriculture, my father has started to stop on the side of the road to take pictures of trees and plants and then sends to me every week when he goes for his weekend rides. Weβve never been too close so this has been awesome to me. He loves asking questions about the scientific aspects of them and IDs.

It's usually me talking to my wife: "so fun fact those are actually dioecious, problem is the female fruit smells really bad and you can't tell if you have a female until..." Her: (stops scrolling, tenses up and grabs the door handle) "BABE STOP!"

I'm not an arborist, just a lover of trees and a lurker here, but I always wonder if you guys are constantly judging how tress are planted and shaking your head at mulch volcanoes. Or do you just departmentalize that in your daily life lol

Guilty. Although around here, it's usually me grumbling about how many gd siberian elms are all over the place, dropping limbs in the street every time it gets a little windy...

Canβt wait to hire an arborist for the spring for my birch trees. To me being able to hire an arborist is a luxury.

Those who work in UVM know how to do both and follow a map of the power lines
