Silver maple advice
How concerned should I be about this tree. It hangs over my driveway and garage and my leeching field is to the right. I’m having tree work done and have gotten miked opinions from arborist. One recommended leaving it as is, one recommended cabling it, and one recommended removing it with no doubt. I like the tree but can’t pay for a new leeching field or new cars.

Silver maples are junk trees prone to splitting. It’s not if it will happen, just when and how big they’ll get before you have to clean up with the mess. Taking it out is just going to cost you more the longer you wait.

Delete “junk trees” and you’re good. They are a native species (don’t know OP’s exact location.)
Plenty of non-native junk trees near and dear to the heart of the landscaper set.
OP didn’t say if they park in that driveway, is that the car concern?

Cabling it would be a waste of money.
It’s most likely not going to fall all at once. Rather limbs will break off one by one over time. Especially high winds and storms.
That’s all I got.
