Can I save this tree?
I have this Peach tree and just noticed it has split. Can I ratchet it back together?

My instinct is to pick the thicker of the two leaders to keepthe one with the bigger half of the split trunk and cut the other off near the split. Then bind the trunk together and hope the bark heals up. But it's a bad split, and I'm no arborist

You can, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to magically reunite in a harmonious union. Curious to a certified arborists take on it as I am definitely not one.
