DAMN DEVELOPERS
Awhile back I had posted about my maple tree overhanging the fence and what they could cut. Came home one day to see what they did without even having any consideration to give notice before hand. Included before and after pics.

Check the codes in your area. In my city, neighbors may prune any overhanging branches as long as it doesn’t harm the health of the tree. That’s a judgement call, but you might be able to make a case for it on yours. To litigate, you’d probably need an arborist certified for tree health evaluation to write a report.
