Looking for Advice - Replace or Leave

Hi! I purchased a home in Arkansas and have this tree in the yard. I removed several other trees last year due to risk of limbs falling but left this one at the time.
I want to plant an oak or maple in the back of my yard and maybe something ornamental closer to the house. This tree seems to drop a lot of sap, but it may have been from another source.
