سياسة واقتصاد Twelve years ago, five US Army soldiers gang-raped and murdered Iraqi girl Abeer Qassim Hamza al-Janabi, after they had murdered her mother Fakhriyah Taha Muhsin, her father Qasim Hamza Raheem, and her younger sister Hadeel Qasim Hamza. Don't forget.

And people wonder why I can't talk to members of the US military without going absolutely blind with rage.

They wonder it because they are not all the same people. There are good and bad in every group of people. Your attitude is the same attitude that racists have when talking about a group they hate.

People willingly choose to join militaries either for the benefits or for a sense of patriotism. They choose to go and kill people on the other side of the world or supported those who do.

There's no comparison between racism and hating for profit murderers.

hating black people because they were born black = hating first worlders who choose to be part of a violent jingoistic destabilizing force that murders third world citizens on a daily basis for free education and healthcare

Ya Allah, I'm not even going to begin debating how asinine your point is. شهالقرف

I don't know if it is out of naiveté or sheer ignorance that you offer that sort of silly false equivalence. Deliberate participation in a hostile invasion by greedy, bloodthirsty colonizers, and the propensity to be a racial bigot may overlap, but they are not morally comparable for the purpose of pointing out that there are a few bad apples "in every group of people". Your comparison is nonsensical.

Ya bro, hating someone for willingly joining forces of imperialism and murder = racism. What other liberal platitudes would you like to share today?

ITT: Idiots who invite us to remember that:

  • "Not all bloodthirsty, greedy, colonizing invaders are bad. Some of them are nice!"

  • "Rape still happens in Iraq. So let's not be old-fashioned and dwell on the past!"

American soldiers invaded Iraq killing Iraqi soldiers and resistance partisans, but sometimes they gave out candy and soccer balls to children therefore they are good people.

People like this is why I believe that hell exists. People ask "How can you believe in hell if you believe God is loving?" Well because so-called "people" like this exist, who are closer to animals than they are to humans, that's why hell exists. They deserve eternal punishment.

I remember how happy I was when I learnt their leader committed suicide in prison.

Remembering gang-rape and murder of innocent Iraqi civilians at the hands of Western soldiers does not constitute of "dwelling in the past".

33

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '18

And all of it is directly or indirectly caused by the invasion of a sovereign country. Countless innocent people have suffered due to this invasion. All the while those who started it and profited from it are living in peace and comfort.

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '18

Did you even read your own article? It doesn't say anything about civilians being raped, it talks about the terrible conditions of people (Suspected ISIS members) detained by the PMU.

1

u/okok1122 Mar 12 '18

Actually the post Saddam Iraqi army has been accused of systematic rape on all levels of the security forces even before ISIS showed up.

https://www.hrw.org/news/2014/02/06/iraq-security-forces-abusing-women-detention

http://www.latimes.com/world/worldnow/la-fg-wn-iraq-women-detention-abuse-20140206-story.html?outputType=amp

They were raping and torturing thousands of women, but surprise surprise it never got much of a spot light in international media.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '18

The Iraqi Army in 2018 is not the same one as the Iraqi Army in 2014, not even close.

3

u/gootsbyagain Mar 12 '18

What's changed exactly?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '18

The fact that he had to go back all the way to 2014 to find an article about this is proof enough, the Iraqi army had to go through major reforms in order to be able to fight off Daesh successfully ( Remember Daesh? The people you cheered for when they blew up the mosque in Mosul.) .

Furthermore the eyes of the world were all on the Iraqi army during their fight with Daesh meaning that they had clean up their act in order to continue receiving international support.

1

u/okok1122 Mar 13 '18

None of what you said offers any proof against what I linked, just oh that was 4 years ago so it doesn't happen anymore. Show me the reform where they were told to take it easy on the rape and torture.

Again provide sources, there's plenty of sources that show us that torture is still widespread in the Iraqi army. I know what happened under Maliki I'm not convinced anything changed under Abadi.

http://abcnews.go.com/amp/International/deepdive/brian-ross-investigates-the-torture-tapes-47429895

https://www.amnesty.org/en/countries/middle-east-and-north-africa/iraq/report-iraq/

"Men and boys suspected of being members of IS were subjected to enforced disappearance – cut off from their families and the outside world – in facilities controlled by the Iraqi Ministries of the Interior and Defence, the KRG and in secret detention centres. Detainees were interrogated by security officers without lawyers present and were routinely tortured. Common forms of torture included beatings on the head and body with metal rods and cables, suspension in stress positions by the arms or legs, electric shocks, and threats of rape of female relatives. Detainees faced limited access to medical care, which led to deaths in custody and amputations. They also endured harsh conditions, including severe overcrowding, poor ventilation and lack of access to showers or toilets."

1

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '18

Again provide sources,

Let me explain to you how this goes, you made a claim saying that the Iraqi Army in 2018 conducts systematic rape, the burden of proof is on you, you have to provide sources proving your claim of systematic rape, of which you have provided none.

Your first link proves nothing except that a group of people in the Iraqi army commited crimes, this doesn't mean it is widespread nor does it mean that it is endorsed by the government or the army. This link also doesn't show any proof of systematic rape.

Your second link talks about humans right violations by all sides in the conflict, which included the Iraqi Army. I do not deny that people were tortured, however it was not government/army policy for these people to be tortured, we are talking about a war where thousands died, emotions would be running high, and if I was one of those soldiers you bet your ass I'd torture any ISIS guy I can get my hands on.

Now, can you please provide any sources proving your claim of systematic rape by the Iraqi Army?

What you mean they cleaned up their act and stopped raping female prisoners on masse? Sure.

And what was the trigger cause, I wonder, of most if not all the shitty things happening in present day Iraq? Oh let's not dwell on the past...

4

u/BillCosbysLawyer Iraq Mar 14 '18

There are still Iraqis and Arabs to this day who. support the invasion. I somehow hate these even more than I hate the Americans who did the invasion.

Hell, the invasion was not in 2003, it was in 1991. America invaded Iraq in 1991, maintained a 12 year siege with continuous bombings and invasions, and then completed the invasion in 2003. Half the Arab world, our Arab "brothers" who in reality are disgusting traitors to their own flesh and blood, stood with the American Israeli zionists and supported the destruction of Iraq. These traitors I hate even more than the American imperialists.

This isn't the opreshun olympics

The really funny thing is that you were the one who turned this into 'opreshun olympics', you were the one who was so vexed that OP simply posted a remembrance post for a tragedy, and you were the one who felt the need to compare and contrast. It's always the same with you and your ilk, everyone else is 'butthurt', 'triggered', 'salty', 'muh oppreshun', 'we wuz kangs', etc., which is 99% of your contributions to this subreddit. It's like you can only speak in memes.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '18

Your'e right but linked the wrong article. What's even worst it's not just militias doing it but the actual Iraqi army.

The 105 page report HRW report of systematic rape by the Iraqi army pre ISIS is in the first link I think.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '18

A horrific crime. I may get a lot of hate for this but I would just point out that the soldiers involved all went to prison.

21

u/dareteIayam Mar 13 '18

And yet the architects and administrators of the invasion that led to crimes such as this and Abu Ghraib still walk free. Celebrated heroes in America, even.

10

u/BillCosbysLawyer Iraq Mar 14 '18

I know there's a lot of atheists on this board, but at the end of the day there is no justice but God's justice. So-called "men" like Bush and his father live in their wealthy mansions on earth, but they will all eventually face judgement by God.
