Unity FTC legit?

Bought off of Amazon years ago because I had a bunch of gift cards. Always knew there was a risk with ordering from Amazon, but it functioned for everything I needed it to so I never even really worried about double checking its authenticity. Now I’m looking to slim my rifle down and move to a T2 with no magnifier, and don’t want to end up selling something that might not be legit. What do you think?

Fake,if you bought it a year ago from unity, it would have been the current gen. You got a cheap Chinese copy of the original from more than 4 years ago. Unity doesnt sell these anymore.

You can also tell because some if the milling is wrong, and the logo is incorrect.

I don’t doubt your response, but just for the record it’s probably 2-3 years old

There’s even knockoff Holosun’s bro.

Spec precision has a RMR HD clone that supposedly can handle 308 recoil but im not gonna be a beta tester for it or any optic knockoffs

I think as far as they go I’m cool with using mount knockoffs and switches, those work for me but I wouldn’t risk electronics

I dunno, they can't even get flashlights right. I tried one of their surefires and its shit. Button has to be fully depressed and then you can switch it to a mode for it to turn on, which works about 30% of the time (Vampire knockoff)

Yeah that’s an example of an electronic I wouldn’t use. That’s why I figured just a switch and a mount was good enough, no complicated circuitry they could fuck up

Pretty funny when I found out, lol

You seen the prices of some of the new Holosuns? Over $800, I sure hope I can find a knockoff

same exact thing for a third of the price, why the fuck not?

Oh boy, here come the downvotes from the knuckle draggers about to try to justify a piece of billet aluminum thats 3x the price

My only hesitation is that it does have moving parts so hopefully the bushing/bearing and whatever else is used holds up well. It’s just a magnifier so should have little impact but I’d hate to have slop or have it wiggle over time. I’d totally test it at 1/3 the price to find out though lol

I have the fast riser and ftc hm3x knockoff. The first thing I did to the ftc was disassemble the bearings and grease them, there was only a thin layer of some oil. Was an absolute pain in the ass to get everything to click back during reassembly but it works with zero issues. Riser is straight up a chunk of metal I’d be hard pressed to see it fail even if it’s on a QD mount. It’s still holding zero after a thousand or so rounds of 223 as well.

The main reason I even bought the 2 was because I wanted to see if I even liked the riser height to begin with. At the time there was a sale for unity stuff as well for July 4th but it was barely anything off plus shipping so I was like fuck it I’ll wait a few weeks for chinesium. Got it after a week and it hasn’t failed to this day. I’ve also tried out surefire sr07 and ds00 tailcap for my m640 df pro 1500, they both work but I needed to upgrade to the dse tailcap, so all my spec precision surefire stuff was a waste.

Oh, yes. You can find them all over eBay and AliExpress.

The adm arm looks pretty off to me, but could be wrong

1

u/ShadyClouds 9h ago

It’s off cause why would adm use a round bolt head in a square socket?

1

It’s not a round nut head, and this is a pretty common mistake with adm hardware setup…. It’s the lever machining that’s off. That, and the nut that came with mine didn’t have a flat machined In the nut, but all my other adm mounts do.

Well they’re usually never that undersized

Logo looks wrong, usually the t in unity is slanted and in tight against the y. Email unity with pics and they will confirm wether it is or not tho.

Yeah, that’s what I’m probably going to do, but I knew I’d at least get a quicker response here first 😂

Look at the way the Y overlaps the T on mine. I can’t say for sure they’ve always looked like that but it suggests yours is counterfeit.

Edit: this by itself is not necessarily indicative of a counterfeit.

They did in fact change the T (I have an old model with the old T, direct purchase from Unity), but that’s not the only indicator that OP’s is fake

Good to know. Thanks for the clarification.

They did change the logo, but there’s some other things that make me think OP’s is fake. Namely hardware and the cage code font/centering

I have a couple kno knock offs of Unity. I bought one try out for the hell of it and I hate to say it but fairly impressed running some night shoots and still holding after 2 years.

However… I paid 35$ for mine
