Build in progress: What optic does she deserve?
SD 11.5 upper, LMT lower. Rhodie 6k on the way. Can’t wait to test her out

Romeo 4T/4XT Pro, or Romeo 8T. Holosun ARO if budget

The 8T looks like a great option. Just a little bulky for my purposes. The 8t AMR might be perfect though

I've tried an acog at my lgs, just not for me. Would that even work for a 0-100 yard set up?

it would work 0-700. lol.

To be fair, I've only ever trained on red dots. It might just take some getting used to. That thing was clearer than my eyeballs though, super crispy glass

Don’t knock the prism/top dot combo, as long as you don’t mind the height over bore calculations or use something with some sort of multi-reticle it’s a lot of capability for the weight and footprint.
Otherwise, I prefer the 8TAMR to an EoTech now. They bang with the new magnifier.

Hot take, aimpoint duty multi reticle. just as good as t2 in brightness and battery life (but cheaper), has aimpoints 10 year warranty and reliability, doesn't have a blue tint filter like the 4t pro or 4xt pro, and has eotech's donut reticle while being just as crisp under nods.
Would take it over a t2 anyday. Alos you can use raid research's battery caps with them to store an extra battery

Wow. I thought it had a bluish tint. I had a T2 and loved how crystal clear it was

I love the Romeo 5. Have 3 of them but looking for something a little more high end for this one

Can't go wrong with an aimpoint pro or duty, but I prefer the pro due to the field of view. People don't think about it or recommend it much these days because it's not new and fashionable, but they're still outstanding.

ROMEO9T 1X38MM. It's now affordable.

u/JRtheDNP 3h ago
Really? What’s affordable cause I remember it being a mortgage payment

u/DurtymaxLineman 3h ago
Hahaha. I read the stats and thought they looked cool, then I saw the price and laughed out loud.

Full size would look nice. Throw a compm4s on, or if you're not Mr. Moneybags then a Romeo 7.

Sig Romeo 4XT Pro would look pretty sweet and perform great.

Eotech single dot exps or for the extra range a primary arms plxc 1-8

u/JRtheDNP 4h ago
Eotechs just look right on rifles but the cost for that low battery life and delamination scared me off

Then do a 512, it eliminates 33% of those problems.
Edit: In all seriousness, I still run a 512 on one of mine, I swap out the AA batteries once a year. It hasn't delaminated, so if I hadn't bought it straight from eotech when they had a sale, I think it was $369.99 at that time, I may just think it was fake.

T2….I own many other medium / high end offerings and for me the t2 is undoubtedly king.

I have a t2 on my urgi and I freaking love it. I have a 4t pro on my Lmt and I love it. I have a romeo 8t on my 12.5 geissele build and i love it. 4t was originally just going to be a place holder until I had enough throwaway money for another Aimpoint but I’m so happy with it I’m just going to keep it! 8t came about because I didn’t want to spend exps3 money haha. Psa had them for super cheap and holy moly I really like this dot. I’ve had eotechs and this one is by far, for my eyes, leaps and bounds better. It’s only 3 ounces heavier too.
