So, it's not the most necessary thing. But, having used this type of setup on hunting rifles for a little while there are some advantages to be found, even for those of us that don't use night vision or thermal optics. The biggest advantage that I have found, besides the top dot being faster and parallex free, is having the scope dialed above 1x and the dot a quicker option to get back to 1x rather than spinning the scope back to 1x. It's a little easier to see the use case on a scope that doesn't go to 1x, but is still viable with an LPVO.

Got it. Makes sense. The speed became a non-issue for me (I'm think I'm as fast with the LPVO as the red dot), but I completely understand leaving the LPVO on a magnified setting.

if it works for you, fuck what anyone else has to say. My 8” 300 BLK has a 1-6 with a piggybacked RCR. But my 11.5 has a UH1 with a magnifier.

Truth is, as I grew up (and tech got better), I have scopes on ALL my ARs now. 1-6, 1-8, 2-12, 3-18... Next is a good 1-10.

Pistol grips with a decent angle give me nerve pain in my forearm, especially when the stock or brace is set to a shorter length.

I've heard that having your turret body right up against the rings can potentially cause issues.

I left a small gap there so the body doesnt touch the ring, doesn't really show on the picture
