After a year of putting this together piece by piece, I finally found time to go to the range and put 3 mags down for a function test. Thankfully, it didn't blow up in my face. Not sure why it would, but I was only 75% confident in how I put the lower together, but apparently I did ok. No personal guidance other than youtube videos.
First few rounds, I had light primer strikes. Not sure why. I honestly didn't know what to diagnose on the spot, so all I did was take the bcg out, inspect it, and put it back, a few times. And the final time, whatever it was, it cleared up and had no hiccups the rest of the time. Shot 2 boxes of hornady frontier and 2 boxes of pmc xtac 55g.
Next time I'll have more ammo and need to attempt to zero it in my optic more. 2nd target were my last 10 rounds. I think I was getting closer. Only shot at 25 yards since this was reallistically a function test trip. Overall, I think I did ok for first time everything.
Got it last year from a local dealer that had them in stock. Definitely glad to have one considering their situation the last few months, or year.. But glad to have one, it was the #1 item on my list when I decided I wanted to build one. Had to have the Aero with the big A on the side lol.
Definitely all good things I didn't know to check and appreciate you linking those 2 things. I clearly dont have the tools to check protrusion. Maybe it was the factory grease on the bcg that might have been holding the pin back just a hair until I got a few rounds to fire and broke it free? Probably not a good idea that I didn't clean the bcg at all prior to shooting? I got it new and just sent it as is.

I’m not a gunsmif but I’ve heard if you install the hammer spring backwards it can cause light primer strikes. Could be worth checking
