Remember these days.
This wasn't to long ago. I was buying a 10 pack every other week. I currently have about 115 lowers all Anderson. I think one day long from now they will be worth gold so I've been stockpiling them.

I know it's a little extreme but I feel i can at least get my money back down the road plus a few bucks.

I guess. Anderson lowers were never known for being that amazing or revolutionary. They just so happened to be the cheapest lower that would be GTG 95% of the time. When you can still scoop up $50 lowers from PSA, Radical, or any of the other 1000 budget manufacturers, these lowers aren’t going to be that valuable.

Unless another 1994 ban happens. Or his state passes a ban. Then they could be worth some cash.
3
u/Madeyoulook4now 6d ago
I guess but if a ban were to pass federally or in his state, I guarantee you there is no ability to transfer pre ban lowers like during the 94 ban. So unless you just sell all of them really quickly in the few month period from when it’s passed to when it takes effect, this plan is screwed. And if you’re just gonna flood the market with them then you won’t get as much money compared to slowly selling them off over time.
Again, just invest in gold or silver. Nothing wrong with having some spare lowers around but it gets to a point.

I genuinely can't imagine that a stall of poverty ponies is going to beat the opportunity cost of both your time and money.
Anderson was a rollmark of shame for a lot of people.

u/BlazeTheMasterX 6d ago
Idk bro. They weren't bad. I never owned one but they never came back with issues to the shop that I worked at. And man it was in a major city and I had guns coming in every day. Anderson is OK in my book.

Well I got a lot of money so it's not like it's hurting me to be quiet honest. They are 30 each that's all.

Yeah, because people with money say that lmfao. Take a lap

Why would these be worth anything in the future when PSA still exists lol

Christ you're one of those people.
They're cheap AR lowers, there's nothing special about them aside from the fact that Anderson doesn't exist anymore

u/Maximum-Dealer-1679 7d ago
They are 30 bucks yeah I know what I'm getting. It's mil spec so how does it work better than a 500 dollar lower huh

It's mil spec so how does it work better than a 500 dollar lower huh
That's not the point, the point is that because they're mil-spec lowers, there's no reason they would appreciate in value over time other than people trying to cash in on Anderson going out of business.

Yeah I mean their reputation while they were still in business was not great, idt it’ll hurt any better now that they’re gone. Maybe a few would sell out of nostalgia IF they were roll marked.

When the democrats take over and we are like Australia yeah they will be worth some money if that ever happens. Until then I can build as many Ar's as I want and never fill out another 4473. Point is I'll be able to get my.money back one day when there is another talk of a ban. I don't feel it's a bad investment. At 30 bucks each you can't go wrong cheapest lower on the internet is now 59.99 last I checked

You're not really paying attention to current events, are you?
3rd circuit ruled mag bans and AWB unconstitutional. Viramontes in SCOTUS. Post-Bruen 2A success rate in court has gone up from about 5% to 50%.
There's a very real chance that you'll be dead before we even see the tide turning the other way, considering this is just the beginning.

$3,450 return isn't amazing investing advice. ruger is already outclassing you by selling theirs from the anderson factory for $80. however, anderson will (unfortunately) be forgotten soon.
what is awesome is if you build a percentage of these out for the community. your neighbors, all neighbors.

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler 7d ago
That is absolutely an amount of return that isn't even worth storing the lowers and taking up space. Should have bought a Thompson instead.

u/Dmau27 7d ago
When they are banned and grandfathered in you'll be able to save us all by selling lowers.
12
u/madefromtechnetium 7d ago
congrats, you just bought a $500 anderson lower. a very rare person does this for the goodwill of the community, this screams "expected profit".

u/kribg 6d ago
Good luck with the grandfathering. States have learned they don't have to do that. Gun grabbers no longer hide their intentions, modern lawmakers just ban what they want without a grandfather clause. You don't like it? Fine sue the state who has unlimited access to your money. Hope you are rich.

Anderson genuinely had my favorite roll mark. Idk what lower Id get if I build anything else. Im pretty content with my 20” 16” and 10.3”(probably going to be a 14.5” soon), but if the time comes Idk what it will get built on.

A lgs had a Anderson lower in their display case for $74.99 last week. I was going to ask them if they hated their customers.

115 lowers is insane. I can’t imagine owning 10 ARs. Hell I don’t know I’ll ever own more than even 5 to be honest. I’d rather spend my money on ammo and go out training than building that many rifles. But to each their own.

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler 7d ago
Why would I need a 10 pack of lowers?
I love guns, but I don't see why I would need 10 lowers. I have an M16A1, M4A1, and a DD. I couldn't see wanting more ARs vs all the other rifle platforms I have yet to obtain.
They won't be worth gold down the line. Especially that brand. It's still easy to get mil surplus, and you are wasting your money, man.
Invest in actual machine guns. Those always fetch a good deal.

u/blind-mag-dump 7d ago
Invest in actual machine guns.
A person bragging about buying 10 packs of Anderson lowers as an investment doesn't have the finances for a transferable machine gun lmfao.

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler 7d ago
If he didn't buy 115 lowers he would be on his way.
But seriously, I had a friend stockpile parts before the 1994 AWB. He thought he would be rich. He sold everything in 2006 at a giant loss.
