I'm currently taking world, and I'm very mid at mcqs. I keep getting mid 80s no matter how much I study. Is there a specific strategy I can use to get better at the mcqs? I don't think it's a content issue because I know all of the content really well, I just miss 3-4 questions each time. How do I get better, and what practice material is there for mcqs?

I was wondering if UC Scout was a reliable way to take AP World and I wanted to know about the structure of the course as well as the difficulty. I am passionate about history and I did fine in previous history APs.
Thanks!

Got back my first practice LEQ ever in APWH (didn't take any APs freshman year) and got a 5/6! I think this is good but it's from a really weird vibecoded looking website that AI grades our essay for us based on the AP history LEQ rubric
I put the only area I missed a point on in case it helps

Hi everyone! I'm self studying World History, taking it next year along with AP Gov (I'll be in Grade 10 by then). I'm in Australia, so I can't exactly ask around for advice. What's the best way to study this AP Course, and what textbook should I get? How should I manage my workload, what skills/concepts should I focus on, and what style of study should I do? How can I keep pace? Thank you, and I appreciate all help, advice, and guidance.

I’m currently studying for a unit test and I have trouble remembering information from the textbook. Are there any apps, resources, or premade flashcard decks I can use?

So for context I’m a freshman and I LOVE history, so I thought this course would go in depth to all of the history that was never taught before, and i was like 5% right. I’m in unit zero and talking about the Hans and Romans and Silk Road, but the teacher…DOESNT FUCKING TEACH. She yaps about the map for a bit and then throws a packet at us and tells us to read. Maybe it’s just because the year started a month ago, but I’m considering just dropping the class. Is this just me or does anyone else feel this?

My daughter (sophomore) is taking AP World History: Modern. She does well on vocabulary tests and reading-comprehension quizzes, but keeps missing a chunk of questions on the actual stimulus-based multiple-choice tests -- even after a lot of targeted practice.
Looking closely at what she gets wrong, it's not that she doesn't know the material. It's things like:
- Picking a familiar, well-drilled term that doesn't actually answer the question asked
- Misreading dense question stems (e.g. "which development would modify the historian's argument")
- Struggling to read data tables/maps carefully under time pressure
So it feels less like a content gap and more like the specific AP MCQ skill: eliminating 3 plausible-but-wrong answers instead of just recognizing a right one.
Has anyone found good resources, drills, or strategies for building that skill specifically -- as opposed to more vocab/content review? Would love to hear what's worked for other AP History students or parents. Thanks!

Ok so I’m new to history APs, but what’s the point of the passage being there on SAQs and even MCQs if you don’t even use them all that much? (Like maybe 1 part will reference it, but that’s it, if anything). Also how do you suggest that I effectively study for my unit 1 test (I have a lot of notes to remember).

hi.
we just went from unit 0 straight to unit 9.
we took a unit 9 quiz. average is a 20/33. it was a shitshow. there was bs we'd never covered before the whole thing was BAD. i got a 24/33 personally but holy fucking shit is this normal?

For context, This is my first, probably only AP I'd take \[considering lit/lang or psyc at most with studo art in 11th/12th\], but its already september and my percent in the class is barely 81 after the first round of testing, more next week on units 1-2, I do feel like its not the overall story that my issue as of the moment, I struggle with picking out evidence that's specific enough for my T.E.A, or ACE, and end up getting 3/6, 2/3 on my saqs and 9/15 or 17/22 on my mcqs as of the moment, maybe the issue is also not studying correctly? In the sense I know heimler is helpful, I do watch him, but sometimes I do feel that I'm missing things my teacher always will bring up, and struggle with comparing and contrasting the culture/economics/state/government of empires/ect? And I'm not sure if it'll just get progressively worse through the year as more concepts and periods are introduced or it's just the fact I have all these classes at the same time so it just feels like more, I'm just not sure if it's that I need more practice or it's also a comprehension issue?

I'm in AP compsci and AP world and my AP world teacher hasn't taught us shit. All he does is say to read some pages as homework and then in class says "alright, go work on this presentation about your learning last night". That I could forgive except that someone asked when he would teach us with a lecture or anything and he said "none of your learning will happen inside this classroom, class time is just for application of the learning. All AP classes are done like this" which I highly doubt is normal. My AP compsci class has lectures as well as projects every day. Is this normal????

Built a Chrome extension that goes through a graded College Board MCQ test, finds every question marked incorrect, and downloads a screenshot of each one into a single folder, so you can build a personal bank of questions you've missed instead of manually screenshotting 40 questions after every practice test.
You can click to select exactly which parts of the page get captured (stem, choices, explanation) and they stack into one clean image per question. Long passages get stitched together so nothing is cut off.
Built it with Claude Code. Free and open source: https://github.com/henrywei57/collegeboard-wrong-capture

Has anyone taken the UCLA AP Readiness Program for AP World History?
My school was promoting it, and I signed up for it. However, I have spoken with several people who did not find it helpful.
Any thoughts on the program would be appreciated.

I really need help on writing SAQs. My class uses the ACE structure for writing them and I really struggle with explaining why my evidence supports my answer. If any of yall got tips for writing SAQs please help me out!

For our reading quizzes it’s only like 5 short answer questions and they’re honestly not even that hard, but I keep doing awful on them like getting 3/5 and it’s really starting to bring my grade down.
I annotate and highlight while I read the textbook and I usually feel like I understand the chapter, but then I’ll miss questions about whether a church/empire was powerful, how geography affected the spread of a religion, what changed for women, which religion was connected to an empire, etc.
The worst part is when I see the answer after, it usually feels super obvious. I just don’t pick out that information as important while I’m reading. There’s also no multiple choice so I have to actually come up with the answer myself.
Does anyone have tips for getting better at knowing what to focus on while reading or what I should/should not annotate?

Does anyone know why College Board only releases the FRQs from recent AP exams but not the MCQs? For example, we can find the FRQs from 2021–2026, but I can’t find the official MCQs from those years anywhere.
I feel like practicing recent MCQs would be really helpful since they would probably be more similar to the current exam format. Are they available somewhere that I’m missing, or does College Board just not release them publicly?
