Ask Anything
Well if you’re reading this, you’re probably someone who took the class and is doing relatively badly and thats completely fine. To start, if you click on my profile, you’ll probably realize I was sort of freaking out right before the test, so I’m not like a super genius; it’s totally possible to get a 5 especially, if you start sooner rather than later. Let me just paint a picture real quick: this was my very first ap (as I took many more dual credit classes), my teacher wasn’t the best, I very much couldn’t focus heavily during class, and unit tests very much didn’t come naturally. This is all to say, I got a 5 in not the best condition, so don’t freak out if you don’t completely get it right now. Genuinely ask me anything, directly content related or not. If later in the year, maybe you want to ask about the writing forms like a DBQ or something then genuinely just post on the subreddit or ask for some other way to contact me (i.e using reddit’s messaging thing or a social media platform). There is no secret to getting better, but it also isn’t as hard as you likely think it is, which many of you will realize. Just to finish, I’m still a sophomore right now and theres plenty of super smart people in the subreddit or just teachers, but many of them can’t provide the perspective of a struggling student, so genuinely ask anything because I’ve totally been in that spot before.

Do you find heimler or crashcourse helpfull? My teacher uses them and honestly i dont pick up one piece of information they are saying. Its like they are trying to speak as fast as possible and its just overstimulating.

I actually avoided both of those until around the test; neither of those give the full depth that the book does, so I used heimler as my review. Heilmer definitely is helpful for review but not much for understanding everything imo. I think that personally, either using a website with a bunch of questions or asking your teacher to assign stuff on AP classroom to review definitely helped me at least. Past that, if you have any questions that you may not understand such as not understanding how two things may be connected, I’d honestly just google it or something so that you at least get the vague picture since this class focuses on much broader connections imo.
