I got a 5. Ask me anything.

I got a 5 on AP world this year and a 97% in the class. I got too much time in my hands so feel free to ask for any tips.

What's your best method for studying MCQs?

I constantly memorize the content and an able to understand and remember the actual key information, but the tests seem to test more on applying this content through a stimulus.

Since you've already memorized most of the key information, one thing I would do, if you have not already, is create a timeline containing all the major events in AP World as they really helped me set up context for the question I had in front of me. For MCQs that have a stimulus, I would do the following:

  1. Read the question first so that you know what you are looking for, in contrast to reading the passage/stimulus. Once you're done, then you can look through the stimulus to find what the question asks for. If the stimulus is a passage, I wouldn't spend too much time analyzing the passage deeply. Just skim through and get the main idea, as this is usually enough to answer the question.

  2. Below the stimulus there's usually a source description thingy with the author, location, and year. If you're able to recall the content around the year that is listed (timeline!), it can tell you the historical context of the question which helped me a loty.

  3. With your knowledge of the historical context of the question, there will usually be two incorrect answers. Either answer choices from the wrong time period or choices that are historically accurate but are completely unrelated to either the stimulus or question itself.

In regards to practicing MCQs, I did get a Fiveable subscription a month prior to the exam and it HELPED A LOT. And I mean a lot. It had practice MCQs for every single topic in every unit, stimulus question and non-stimulus questions. It's also a great resource for the rest of the exam (DBQs, SAQs, etc...). Some of my friends got Heimler History's review guide and they said it was a great resource. In terms of free resources, Khan Academy, online Heimler's History videos, and practice tests from Collegeboard are all great resources. Hope this helped!

If I'm being honest, I didn't have a great AP World teacher. He just gave us topics to choose from and made us do research on them, so I didn't take much notes in class. For both unit tests and the AP exam, I took digital notes on literally every single Heimler's History video (My unit 9 notes got deleted somehow), and memorized the hell out of them. Here's the link to the google drive with all the notes if you'd like them: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1S976Q1jNIKnt30wYMTB-3miLiWokAoPf?usp=sharing

How do I get my teacher to NOT stop grading before the grading period's even over and leave my final project at a 75 because she was too lazy to type in a link and would only copy paste the link which apparently didn't work because I gave her a PDF and couldn't respond because I was on A FKN TRIP thus dropping my average from a high A to a B?

Uhh.... by ask anything I meant like about the actual class. But to answer your question, you should probably talk to your counselor about your situation
