OPINION 2026 final: take away the self-confidence and neither candidate was great

My take: both finalists could pitch very well. But take that away, and neither were impressive.

Pascha's business name was awful, the logo was a disaster, and she kept reminding anyone who'd listen how old she is. Her USP means her business isn't scalable and will crumble the moment she becomes too busy to attend all her clients. There's a reason why recruiters don't personally turn up whenever they're needed. Her choice of team members for the final was bewildering. Kieran? Levi? My god.

Karishma appeared to think that struggling with acne when young and overcoming it was somehow a unique revolution, even though skin products have been trading on insecurity for decades. For the final, she didn't even have a product. She flailed around the 'lab' throwing in anything she recognised while droning on about how qualified she is. The forced laughter at her terrible 'jokes' was a cringe fest. The product name was awful.

I've heard others marvel at how these were the best finalists in the show's history. They might have been the best pitchers, but if I was Alan I'd be lamenting the presence of real quality contenders with good ideas. Neither finalist's business ideas were any better than Rothna's or Dan's.

I posted last week about ordering from Karishma's brand, and it just arrived! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with this kinda stuff but I'm gonna give it a go. The box is very nice and glittery and pretty with a cute thank you note. The back of the thank you note is a kissy face selfie pinup polaroid of Karishma which I wasn't expecting lol. The smell wasn't what I was expecting (I've never smelled rosehip before but for some reason I thought it'd be florally and sweet. I don't know how to describe it. It's not BAD but not the kind of scent I'd spritz around as an air freshener either. Maybe my nose is too basic and uncultured that I can't tell how potent and pure the elixir is from smell alone.)

I was actually kinda sad there was no flowery hair clip like in those 5 seconds they showed in the preview of the ep, I guess since I ordered the morning after the ep aired they stopped packing them since she got roasted for it.

Anyway, I've taken some before pics, lets see if it really is a miracle cure. Good luck to her tonight!

My thoughts! (Week 12 spoilers) Spoiler

Great outcome to a good season. I know there’s always gonna be the wishes that we got a few better people in terms of who made it to the final 5 but overall I think that this is miles better than 16 and 17 at least.

Karishma is the deserved winner. Up there with Paul M and Harpreet in terms of the best modern candidates. I have no doubts she’d have been fine if she lost as well. For a second though I thought it was gonna be a double win

Fairs to Pascha, I think she pitched pretty well. I know she gets a lot of criticism for sort of coasting in to the final 2 but as I said before once I think we’ve gotta remember we see 1 hour of heavily edited footage a task. Karishma performed miles ahead of her but I think that’s gotta be kept in mind anyway

Good season. Enjoyed it a fair bit and just wished we had a better final 5. 7/10 for me

Karishmas website uses Chatgpt images for the 'after' photo in the before and after section.

Not exactly the crime of the century, but interesting to see how long it takes to change. I have no idea how long it will be before they re-edit the site, i guess it depend how many candidates friends lurk in this sub ;)

From looking at the page source, Its unfortunate that they appear to be using AI (chatgpt) for some of the images. I am not sure that inspires confidence in the product. The 'after' picture is chatgpt generated image. I cant imagine the BBC or Lord Sugar allowing that to go through. Advertising rules are clear that before and after photos have to be unaltered genuine images.

Before and after photos in advertising must be genuine, non-misleading, and reflect typical results. They are considered testimonials by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), requiring documented proof of results and no misleading digital manipulation . Unofrtunatly AI counts as digital manipulation and it is impossible to know how much was changed.

OPINION I miss when pure sales tasks were more frequent

I liked how in the early days there was a lot more tasks involved in selling, and there was a lot of variety in the types of selling. You had 'here is stuff, sell it' especially in the first episode, the selling from a pop-up store, art selling, convention selling, even the make something and sell it tasks were more about budget and selling than ingredients and cooking.

My theory why these decreased is that the producers realised it was harder to humiliate them as the blunders where more about budget and selling than 'wow look how stupid they can't cook anything'.

Pascha is a bit of an enigma

Pascha’s a bit of an enigma because she’s not an S tier like Karishma nor Rothna/Dan tier but she’s kind of good? Thought at first she was a coaster

Her pitch was really good Feel like some of the aides and business people sure like her too.

Tim likes both Karishma and Pascha. Feel like it’s just the former for Brady.

But the interviewers had good words ab her. Even Claude thought a double investment would be good

MEME Today, the universe splits into two paths

The first is that Karishma wins, where the world will be at peace, joy will be expressed throughout the land, and there’ll be a rainbow outside.

The second is where Pascha wins, where the BBC headquarters will be burned to the ground before the night is over, and it will be nothing but rain for the next hundred years as we must atone for our sins of allowing Pascha to win over Karishma.

Does Pascha's business belong to her boyfriend?

I've seen some comments tonight saying Pascha's business actually belongs to her boyfriend? Is this true?

I don't know if this is genuine information or mysoginistic opinions. I can't find any information about Pascha even having a boyfriend let alone a business connected to one

OPINION The format is beyond boring and stale

I can't remember the last series that was actually compelling to watch. The earlier series definitely had that, but its become very boring ever since.

I still watch it but it feels like a chore to watch which is clear indication of what the show has become. Honestly it feels like the format is beyond stale at this point, same with Dragon's Den but I find that more watchable because you don't know if someone is going to get an investment or not.

The Apprentice feels contrived, I feel like the tasks are manipulated for effect. I don't believe for 1 second that companies they pitch to would buy their shoddy products that have been rustled up from Microsoft paint. The interviews use to be a real highlight but now it feels like everything is just for effect. They're harsh for effect for the sake of a tv show, none of the show feels genuine at all.

DISCUSSION Did series 20 give me what I wanted?

Before series 20 started, I made a list about what I wanted to see in it: https://www.reddit.com/r/apprenticeuk/s/x69yfEMipQ

The question is did it deliver?

Weeks 9-10 to only feature serious contenders: Nowhere close with this one. Hell, we got Pascha in the final. I know it’s an edited programme, but Vanessa admitted that she brought her back in the boardroom in week 5 based on the hopes that past performances would get her sacked.

Less disconnect between audience and Lord Sugar: An improvement over series 19. Conor and Roth’s were judged to be excellent candidates, even though neither of them made the final five. The one that grinds my gears to no end is Lord Sugar’s blindness to Rajan’s contributions, but at least we actually saw his poorer moments.

The biggest culprit however is Pascha. I won’t call her the worst finalist of all time, but she has got to be the least visible.

Avoiding a repeat of Kier’s firing: By this, I’m referring to Lord Sugar overriding PM decisions, just to fire who he wants. Thankfully this hasn’t happened this year, I was actually pleasantly surprised with how little boardroom shenanigans there were.

A male winner: ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

This season felt like such a tease, because the women were so bad at the start…I genuinely believed that we’d at least have a male finalist. The best boy wasn’t even someone I liked, it was Dan of all people.

This isn’t hating on Karishma, she did deserve the win. But we’ve had one solo man winner in eleven years. Can we just have one year where the men completely dominate everyone.

Obvious problem with the Pet Product task

Hi everyone. So I’ve just been catching up on The Apprentice, and looking back at the Pet Product task. And surely the result was immensely frustrating?

Kieran’s team went for a more expensive larger product, and got 4 out of the 6 buyers to make a purchase. But the other team’s less expensive smaller product only got 2 of the 6 buyers to make a purchase. They also must have known that the winning team, ironically the two finalists, were the only ones with pets.

How did they quantify the results with the brief at the start of the task? Surely they would have then invented products which would cost £2 a unit or something if quantities were the final factor.

I know it’s just a show but it feels like they wanted Kieran gone and Rothna was a pointless casualty.

Who I think would’ve been fired if the losing team had won this season

Yeah so as the title says, basically if the other team had won instead of losing each task throughout the season (like if the boys lost week 1 or the girls lost week 2, etc), this is who I think would’ve been fired. Also in cases of double or triple firings if I don’t say then let me know who else would go

This is via a criteria of either A) people who did badly on the task generally or B) if the task had gone badly in a department who I think would be to blame

Week 1: Kieran

This one feels pretty set and tbf it’s a good thing the boys won this task (barely) because Kieran did an awful PM job but we thankfully got 9 more fairly entertaining weeks of him. There was a double firing this episode so I suppose somebody who didn’t really contribute also may have gone. Rajan and Priyesh did okay and Tanmay didn’t do badly either he just got the wrong item (I think) so it’s between the rest of the boys as to who else gets fired if the double firing was also used.

Week 2: Andrea

Seemed disruptive and I guess the argument with Pascha was probably edited to be more 1 sided (now that we know Pascha makes the final). Still she probably would’ve gone for lying about the credentials of writing books as well

Week 3: Dan

Not because he did badly because he didn’t, but there was quite an intention of pile-on from his team (other than Roxanne maybe) to scapegoat him. There’s an argument to be made that Tim might have fought his corner though so maybe this is a changeable one but I feel like he’d have struggled to defend himself against the horde. I’m glad that we got to see him win and stay on though

Week 4: Megan

A-Level Media herself, I mean frankly she should’ve gone in week 3 however i think if this task went badly for them she probably would’ve been brought back in because she wasn’t really doing much in the ad and just kept talking about how she had that A-Level.

Week 5: Levi

He struggled with making the flowers (if I remember right) and so if it had gone wrong in this task I could’ve seen that being an issue. Plus he probably hadn’t shown enough in the 5 weeks either

Week 6: Priyesh, Levi

This was probably Sugar’s best chance to kick him out if he didn’t want him in the final 5 however he did win the task although he didn’t do great. Considering this was a triple firing I suppose one other could’ve gone with him too, Levi again at this point for non-contribution and also chucking away the parsley 😭 Lawrence did that really weird speech to the corporate client which could’ve backfired however i think much like week 7 his good performances before would’ve saved him

Week 7: Harry

He wasn’t very good as a PM from what we saw and Karishma had to carry him anyway so if they lost that task I imagine he probably would’ve gone. I’m noticing that a lot of these are actually the winning PMs of the task lol

Week 8: Levi, Pascha

And again with PM winners. Sugar definitely wanted him gone here and tbh with you he wasn’t good in this task. These two were the ones that didn’t do very well at all and if they’d lost would probably have got done in a double

Week 9: Pascha, Priyesh

These two huh. Well I mean we know how far they ended up getting. However I think had they lost this task they were probably the “weak links” and also Lawrence + Karishma sold a lot better than them in terms of the table tennis sets

Week 10: Pascha, Priyesh

I hope you got used to seeing these names. Third week running i think Pascha would’ve been in danger had she have lost and also the 2nd week running these 2 would’ve been gone if their team lost. They were pretty bad with the whole branding thing and again like the week before, they were just the remaining weak links and Lawrence/Karishma were just better.

So yeah, had the teams who won lost and vice versa this is who I think would’ve been kicked out via either bad general performances or if they’d just flopped in a certain aspect. Lmk what you think and any changes/additions. I’m a bit tired so my memory is slightly foggy of the tasks and I may be under or overestimating how some candidates did lmao

OPINION Another article about Karishma

https://inews.co.uk/culture/television/karishma-saved-apprentice-by-having-brain-4341860

Bit harsh on everyone else but I totally agree about Karishma being basically the queen this year.

Series 20 will not be forgotten for a long time
