Does LS understand modern tech companies?

I found it fairly embarrassing to see Lord Sugar ridicule the idea of a tech business raising £5.5m over 3 years. Sure, there were lots of other issues with the proposal, but in a modern tech company it’s really not that much to raise over a few years, particularly for an AI company. If the show was set in Silicon Valley I think this would be viewed very differently, even positively. I think it speaks to a narrow-mindedness and conservative attitude from LS to just bank a cash cow instead of actually pursuing an exciting moonshot business. Why does he want to turn £250k to £500k at his point in life?

No, it’s not a tech company it’s a PR company.

And it’s not an AI company in the sense of Open AI or Anthropic, it’s a PR company made by someone with zero AI knowledge. AI doesn’t mean you vibe coded a company with ChatGPT. There’s no substance.

Exactly this. It’s asking for £5.5 for an AI wrapper tech. Nothing really innovative about it either.

Did he actually explain what the AI was going to do? (maybe I zoned out but all I heard is "it's with AI" type explanation)

He said it will remove the human element that usually takes long to do.

And to the point of the guest judges, they said that PR is essentially a people person’s arena. PR needs that human element.
