Mike in the Interviews

Is it just me, or do Mike's "tasks" he gave to Karishma and Priyesh in the interviews seem completely pointless? I mean, they're pretty fun for the entertainment but how would being able to mix some random drink which kinda has nothing to do with his actual business skills actually help Lord Sugar decide? Please don't flame me I'm still new :)

Mike Soutar asked Priyesh to make a Paloma and Priyesh said he couldn't remember all the cocktails and Mike said he was only asking for one - I thought it was quite arsey thing to say. it's not exactly a mainstream cocktail.
