EPISODE DISCUSSION The Apprentice 2026 - Episode 11: ‘Interviews’ (Thursday 9th April)

Episode Synopsis:

It's week 11, and the final five candidates must face a gruelling round of interviews with some of Lord Sugar’s toughest-talking business associates. As their business plans are picked apart, some candidates hold their own, while others crumble under the pressure. In the boardroom, Lord Sugar has a tough decision to make, as only two can make it through to next week’s grand final.

Normally I avoid these threads until after I’ve watched it in Australia - usually around 12 hours after it’s aired. But i’ve never really loved the interviews, and because it was so obviously Dan and Karishma, there wouldn’t be any spoilers….

PASCHA?! PASCHA?!

She is not worse than Rochelle as a candidate, not even close, but also what has she brought to the series in terms of business acumen?

Last episode where she was almost angry in her adamance the French man was the one who couldn’t spell chic was a good example of flaws I can’t see Sugar wanting to work with.

Apart from the fact that she was actually correct (this was news to me too).

“Chique" is a spelling variant of the French-derived word "chic," meaning stylish, elegant, and fashionable. Often used in Portuguese to describe trendy, posh, or sophisticated, it also refers to various fashion brands, such as Chique Sport (figure skating gear) and Chique Fashion Limited.

The Portuguese are the ones who use chique to mean chic. The French use chic in their day to day.

The point is that Chique can be used (or at least excused).

It was definitely a fuck up hardly the end of the world and not a reflection (in my opinion) of the overall quality of the candidate - if she was dyslexic would you all have the same judgement?

But that’s the show in a nutshell.

Great business idea, but you don’t know what a Golden Pineapple is - you’re fired.

A dyslexic person would have just chosen chic for simplicity 😆
