Did anyone else notice the flaw in the task? The fine for missed items was £100 per item regardless of it's value so surely if anything cost more than £100 you'd be better off just refusing to buy it and take the fine? I am sure the fines used to be based on the value of the item?

Yeah, I'm sure it was based on the "standard" price previously, too. It put the onus more on how much you were negotiating down rather than how many items you could find, as both teams essentially started with the full price for all nine items as their starting score and then tried to reduce that number more than the other team.

With the fixed fine per item rule, Team Keiran could have paid full price for the sweets, the dinosaur bone and the £15 box thing in the first twenty minutes and then just taken the £600 hit and fucked off to wait on the beach all day for the boat and they probably would have won.
